Nope. Planning on doing my first one at around 8k miles if I feel like being nice. I am doing the first one at the dealer, because I have a squeaky driver side window I want them to look at. There was something else I wanted them to check out as well, but I can't remember it off the top of my head...

For me I think it's gonna be once a year. I won't rack up more than 4000 miles a year realistically.

I've got ~1400 miles now, and am thinking these same thoughts....

any of you guys changing early (say <3000mi) seeing noticeable metal particles in the oil?

I didn't look but I didn't have to, to believe that it's a good idea. Changed engine, trans, and diff at 1100 miles. I've spent almost $200 on less useful shit. It's worth the piece of mind and getting the quality of fluid I want in there.

Just changed at 1,500 and no particles. It's too cheap to not do it for peace of mind.

My dealer in NJ (Malouf) gives free oil changes for the life of the car... so I waited till 8k and did the first old change. I finally located the oil life meter in the screen menu. Will be using that from now on.

I've been using the Oil Life Monitor on my wife's 2013 Ford Explorer as well as my 2016 Mustang GT. People have sent the oil out at 10,000 miles to be tested with no issues reported. To much 1970's paranoia on here. Check the dip-stick to ensure you don't have a weird engine that is literally burning oil up and you'll be fine.

I will be doing my first one this spring with 1950 miles on it. It's been sitting all winter so I'm getting it changed first thing.

I talked with some techs and they recommended using all Motorcraft because if there is an issue, even if it is slightly out of factory warranty Ford can't come back and say anything.

Just completed first oil change on my 15 GT at 5300ish miles. Mobil 1 of course. A couple of things I noticed, and I've been changing oil on my cars for 44 years. Had to get a bigger oil pan-8 quarts is a lot, but a good thing. Having to remove 6 screws to remove the plastic cover to uncover the oil filter is a PITA. And then the oil runs all over the wiring to the power steering controller, I wasn't too impressed with that. I'd bet the econo oil change places will be disposing of those covers ASAP.
