By the way that is a gorgeous car...
Likewise to you.
he didn't get the painted on stripes, why did you think he would have a carbon frame, lol
And yet the frame is carbon along with the rims. :)
Had to spring 8K for the full carbon bike thus cutting into the painted stripe fund.
:(
Yes, top of the line bikes ain’t cheap just like our cars. But the top of the top for my bike is over 12K after taxes. So not cheap.

Kudos to you man, that’s allright. And at least it’s not on a damn subaru. Just for our sakes, please keep those suction cups clean!

Please explain.
Not dissing your truck, because it's a great vehicle! But, the fact that the bed is too short to completely hold your bike, and you still needed to purchase another accessory to cover the tailgate... Yeah, it's a compromise, I get it!

I like being able to toss our bikes into the bed and go. My F-150 supercab has the 6.5' bed, but sometimes I wish it was 8' (mainly to haul more firewood)!

I think you're missing the point, I have a F150 with the 8 foot bed and can just throw my bike in the back, but also have the tailgate mat for a couple reasons. 1 it's easier to get the bike in and out, I don't need to get into the bed. 2 it's a lot easier when there are multiple riders. I can fit 4 bikes on the mat and 2 maybe 3 if I just put them in the bed laying down.

there are legion bike mount options for pickups. Some go lengthwise others across with the fork on a truck-mounted skewer. The pic shows an incredibly lazy solution and also highlights the uselessness of the short truck bed that it can't even hold a single bicycle with it's wheels still attached.

So it's FAIL on at least 2 fronts.

The only FAIL here is your post. Obviously you don't bike much. I carry 4 bikes with ease and you don't have to take the wheels off.

something wrong with you, then. Coastal inlet, high bordering cliffs, calm water, pretty blue car with popping split-spoke 5 wheels...
you left out the trailer hitch on the mustang.

I only carry 1 bike. and i traditionally used a roof rack or a skewer system mounted to the front bed lip for multiples. Obviously your use case is different and you don't mind the look of bikes hanging over the tailgate.

I guess I should have added a couple of smilies to my earlier post as the 'FAIL' was tongue in cheek and was responding to the "makes me feel sad" sentiment of the poster.
