Just attended the July 2-3 session and it was amazing. Some observations:
1. Day 1 - you get to the day in a GT350 including some runs on the full Roval at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the afternoon running on Michelin Pilot Super Sports. At the end of the day, you have an instructor take you around and show you how the lap "should/could" be run. Definitely eye opening.
2. Day 2 - you switch to 2015 Ford Performance Racing School Mustang GT
· Ford Performance FR3 Kit (includes springs, shocks, sway bars and Brembo brakes)
· 285/35/19 BFGoodrich gForce Comp 2 tires
· 435 horsepower
· 400 lb.-ft torque
I elected not to upgrade my tires to the Cup 2's which was fine. First thing, you notice is the GT's are not as planted as our GT350's. It takes a little more skill to properly drive the school GT's correctly, especially with the stock tires. So you definitely feel when you aren't doing it right. You pick up a greater appreciation for our GT350s and how they are set up. Nice to get two solo sessions as well.

Doug......I was there with you. What a blast it was to be there for two days. That's a very accurate description of the difference between the two vehicles. I also have a 2019. I picked mine up in Arizona on July 5. It's K1805.

Hey Jesse, yeah fun times. Nice Shelby neon light in your garage!
Thanks, I picked it up at Shelby American in Las Vegas last year. The Texaco sign is authentic and is 100 years old. I don't want pristine signs, I look for roached signs. They tell more of a story and I get to keep them alive.... My other half has a brick and motor store and lives in Carmel, so let me know if you decide to go down to Laguna Seca, Thunderhill or to Sonoma Raceway for events. I take my GT350 anywhere. Send me a private message if you ever want to get together.

Not much open because of Covid. Drive through restaurants are open and some do have dine in with social distancing. Mustang Owners Group Museum moved down the street a couple of buildings and was closed when I was there, but, they could be open when you go. Drink lots of water. Hydrate. It gets really hot inside the cars with the race suit on and the helmet.

Have you strapped into a 5-point harness before while wearing a H.A.N.S. device?

Boy, have I got a funny story of my adventure last month at Track Attack!

Just relax and have a great time. Lots of take out food options in the area - Jim & Nix Barbecue wasn't bad. Walmart is pretty close to stock up on beer and drinks for the room.

Thanks everyone. My old drag racing days were long ago and the harness/helmet requirements were pretty lax. We are getting excited about the trip. We will be visiting colleges before and after my track days. Will be driving all over N & S Carolina.

See you next week. I'm going with my brother, if the airline Gods allow a plan to fly on schedule. It has taken four tries to find planes that fly cross country anymore. I might have to drive home at this rate.

Zaxbys has pretty good chicken sandwiches!
You'll love the experience!
It took a little getting used to the H.A.N.S device and the helmet, but, it didn't take long!

I’m trying to book a flight that leaves the same day as the track attack. What time does the day end? Can I make a flight leaving at 6PM?

I just did the Track Attack yesterday. Left at 5:05PM, headed to the airport, gassed up the rental car and was at my gate by 6PM. Maybe cutting it close.
