I fly out on the 30th. The dinner for the 1st of July was cancelled, so Ill have a free day. Anyone whose already attended have any suggestions for places to check out on my free day there? I cant wait for the 2nd and the 3rd. Bought mine on July 5th, 2019. Special order delivered to Sanderson Ford in Glendale AZ at MSRP. Just rolled over 12100 miles. She's my keeper until I cant drive anymore......

I attended last week. Wasnt much open yet. The Mustang Museum is right up the road tho. It was closed, but the lady came out and talked to me for a bit. They are currently in the process of moving cars. Lots to do in the area if things are opened up.

I signed up today for November 5th and 6th. It's gonna be a fun birthday this year. Anyone else going that week?

I’ll be attending Friday September 11, followed by a two day OT event Saturday and Sunday with the SCMC club.

Three days of open track, can’t wait !

Anyone have the latest news on passes for NC? Im scheduled for July 1, 2 and 3. Are the dinners being canceled?
I'm also going the same dates. The welcome reception was canceled. I haven't heard much other than the e-mails I've received which I'm sure you got as well.

Ah man, three more weeks of phase 2 for NC. I was hoping for a move to phase 3 prior to my track attack on 7/15 & 16. Oh well, I understand why. Please wear masks people.

Where did you stay? I checked with the host hotel and the full breakfast order is still cancelled. Without the hotel kitchen open for ordering what you want, I don't feel like paying full price for the hotel. Any suggestions?

Are you staying at the host hotel? I have been contemplating cancelling with them and seeking a different location. Any thoughts? Do you know if anyone else has stayed at the Embassy Suites or if they went somewhere else? IF so, what would be a good consideration?

I need a consensus. Has everyone been staying at the host hotel, with the breakfast option being shut down, or have you cancelled and stayed elsewhere? If so, anyone have some suggestions of a good place to stay? I have not cancelled at the hotel, but, I am considering it. I just need to know if there are other good places to stay, otherwise, I'll just stay put.

There is a Holiday Inn Express in the same area. It will have no breakfast but it will be cheaper. Why pay for a breakfast you won't get, a manager's social hour that does not exist or any of the other things you won't get for the extra money? I'm hoping they have a grocery store opened in the area myself.

(Caveat: my class isn't until August)

I didn't see a need to stay at the host hotel. I've got plenty of Marriott points and so it was completely free for me to stay at the Courtyard Charlotte Concord, which is literally around the corner. I figure if there does end up being anything I need to run over to the Embassy Suites for, it won't be the end of the world.

Randy, curious about your groups take on the insurance. Did you guys talk about it?

Thanks

It never came up. I asked one of the instructors if they had ever had a crash, and he said nothing really, other than people running into the garage doors. He said there was a couple small spins before, but nothing that had created any damage. If you are an experienced driver, I would say it's not needed. Once I got going, I was never worried about the insurance.

Thanks for the info. I am now at the Courtyard by Marriott. Saved $300.00+. Couldn't see staying at Embassy Suites if they rent going to adjust the rates for not having a cook to order breakfast every morning and no dinner receptions.

I'm staying at the holiday Inn Express when I attend. Why go crazy on a hotel when none of them are going to provide any amenities anyway? It's about the exact same distance as the host hotel. From the looks of it, we'll all be eating drive thru anyway.
