I was curious as well... checked with Ford and for '15, it was 1 out of every 3 GT Coupes.

Have no Idea about the stats OP

FWIW, I had a hard time finding a PP here in the bay area. I had to educate every sales person I talked to and I went to 4-5 stealerships. Finally found one that was fresh off of a truck.

I was not much better off 40 minutes north of Sacramento. My dealer had to haggle 4-5 other dealers in the north valley for a dealer trade to get my PP. My car came up from south of Stockton.

I don't think the EB/PP is as prevalent as the GT/PP as I rarely see other EB/PP around my area. When we sat down with the dealer to search a 300 mile radius for a loaded EB/PP Auto there were not that many out there. I think there were only 3 Magnetic in 300 miles and ours came from a dealership a couple hundred miles away.

The first car to hit the lot here was a PP EB. That was in 15' of course. There are more premium GT's and base GT's here than anything.

Performance Pack's offer a lot for the money. When I test drove a silver ingot base PP car I was sold the minute I hit the brakes and almost broke the girlfriends neck. Then I got on it and really enjoyed the 3.73's. That's why I went back and bought my car eventually.

But the standard suspension is going to be at PP like performance so it will balance itself.

Right, but will the base GT get the torsen diff, the bigger radiator, the brembo brakes etc?

Ford has already been slowly bumping up the PP price every year. Those Michelin PS4's alone are expensive as hell.

Totally believe that. Turns out I got my car from roseville. Had I known they were hoarding all the PP's, I would have gone there myself.

Of the handful of S550s in my office building I am the only PP. There are too many V6s, a couple GTs, and only my PP.

I got compliments on the wheels the first day I drove it to work.

No, but changing the suspension tuning is nearly free. The springs and dampers only cost a few dollars more per car over the base.

What they've done for '18 in this area is the right move, as the PP suspension for 15-17 wasn't harsh at all, but was at the minimum level the car should be for a sports coupe suspension. The base was far too soft and boat-like (mine is a base, but has been significantly upgraded).

The PP option for '18 will add the brembos, torsen/3.73, and cooling pack over the base GT.

I’m not sure about the upgraded damper cost, but just the Michelin PS4 addition could add a couple hundred to the package price. I see a minimum PP upgrade price of $500. Add in the forged wheels and magneride and you are looking at another $2k. My guess is the full blown PP upgrade is going to be in the $5k-$6k range.

While I do agree, the PP suspension is not the least bit harsh…I have seen multiple posts in here of people saying how much more they preferred the base GT suspension as the PP was too jarring. They have obviously never ridden in a lowered foxbody, however….hopefully this change doesn’t put off the average buyer looking for something quick and pretty…but not hard on their bones.

Yeah, the PP (without Mag ride option, or forged wheels option) will probably be a tad more expensive, though not sure $500 more.

Ford's internal cost to go from the base to PP dampers is approx. $7 a car.

Anyone that prefers the 15-17 base suspension is coming from a cushy family car. It is floaty and uncontrolled for the type of vehicle this is. The PP suffers from a tad too much compression damping and not enough rebound. Fix that, and it will ride beautifully.
