Genius.. ASIA is not only JAPAN and CHINA.

ASIAN subcontinent has hell more countries. there mostly manuals are preferred.

In EU: major cars are manuals.

Yes Auto market is catching up but people still prefer manuals there. And you will still see people buying manuals more than auto.

Man those national geographic magazines used to be the shit when I was 10-12. Tribal women with big boobs and balancing things on their heads while running. The ones with the neck rings and plate lips did it for me. Remember the movie "the gods must be crazy". Hot chicks on that flick.

Disagree on autos. Most of the world is currently big on autos for the simple reason that manufacturers can get better fuel economy if they can control the gearbox. Emissions legislation and high tax on polluters has seen off the manual on anything bigger than a super mini.
World wide diesel sales outpace petrol, diesels have a very narrow power band where they achieve max efficiency, hence if you have 8 or 9 ratios to play with you ensure that the engine is working in its most efficient rev range. Who wants to stir 9 gears and constantly keeping revs between 1500 and 2800.... Hence auto all the way. Try finding a manual or indeed a petrol German car in Europe nowdays. It would have to be a special order. My local Bmw dealer doesn't have any petrol non-M cars on the lot at all!

$98k is cheap in comparison to Malaysia, was chatting to a tourist from there on our recent NC500 run, knew his cars as well, the GT would cost £200k there. Combination of punitive taxes and Eco levels. The Ecoboost is @ £90k.
