So my 2018 with the digital dash came with a dead bug sealed inside. Pointed this out and my dealer and they ordered and then installed a new instrument cluster. The old one showed my actual miles of 32xx, the new one came with just 15 miles on it. Dropped my car off at the dealer for them to remove the instrument cluster and ship it to CA to have the correct miles programmed on it. My dealer just called and they said Ford won't authorize the odometer correction. My dealer says that Ford says that he ECM stores the miles, not the instrument cluster, and whatever is show on the instrument cluster is correct?!?!
So what would you do? Fight the fight with Ford (which I'd win because the dealer has lots of service history documenting the correct miles), or just leave it as is? I'm looking for opinions and pro and cons to each option. Thanks!
