o2 spacers

would o2 spacers make car " not ready" for emissions inspection, can not get a clear answer from tune support. have long tube headers with high flow cats . not ready monitors are o2 sensor and o2 heated sensors. any input would be wonderful. no cel, no codes, went for inspection and told me monitors were not ready. purchased autel al329 whitch indicated the sensors that were not ready

want to hear what folks have to say since obdII testing is coming to our area. i'm holding off on all exhaust mods until i know i can pass i/m readiness testing with long tubes and high flow cats

if you simply plug in your rear O2 sensors, you will not have a fault.
fords logic is A/B, plugged in or not plugged in: ie, have plugged in these sensors CATLESS without a fault.

I had a tune where the 02 sensors would never get ready state no matter what, and it was the tuner not wanting to write a tune that could do that. Have you communicated with your tuner and ensured that it should go ready eventually?

What exact spacers do you have? Some have interchangeable pieces and you usually have to swap sizes depending on the vehicle or setup to make it pass.

Is that the only thing not ready? How long has it been in not ready, like a few days or just today? I think for some of those monitors to reset, you have to let the car sit overnight and do a cold start.

And just in case, do not reset any check engine codes. It will flip them all to not ready

Your tuner disabled them, there's no need for that.

I am catless and the car throws a code for the o2s and the readiness monitor fails.

I've used spacers in the past on my cobra that was cat-less and it worked, no cel and passed emissions, no idea if these cars are exactly the same or not.. in theory it should work.

Mine does not... I'm kind tuned if that matters to you. I don't have a cel, but we don't have emissions in GA either.

I had to have my tuner turn of the cel for the cat codes so I could use remote start haha. I have to do emissions fairly soon and just planning on buying catted o2 spacers or registering in a different county that doesn't have emissions, or maybe I'll dig my high-flow cats out and try those.

just not having cel's is a whole different level of preparedness than actually passing i/m readiness testing. my last mustang didn't throw o2 codes but the monitors would never complete. those are what are looked at when a car undergoes obdII emissions testing. even if the car doesn't throw cel's, it's still going to fail if all the monitors aren't in a ready state.

i read on hptuners forums that some were able to get the monitors to set to ready by massaging a bunch of the thresholds regarding o2 temps and other stuff, but it took a lot of trial and error and time to finally get the monitors to pass.

it seems it's a crapshoot as to whether one can install longtube headers and high flow or no cats and to still be able to get all the monitors in the correct condition to pass obdII testing. it would probably be easier to register the car in a county that doesn't or won't have obdII testing anytime soon.

i know there are some here on the forum that have been successful, but i don't think it was easy.

Counties around Atlanta do have emissions inspected. My EB has a slightly higher flow cat that throws a CEL. A spacer turned off the CEL and I pass emissions but they never take a very close look underneath either.
I'm away until the end of the week so can't check to see if the monitors are ready or not. I know we're allowed 2 or 3 monitors to not be ready and still pass.

Surprise, surprise I don't live in the Atlanta metro area.

I don't know about ecoburst cars.

Having or not having a cat on coyote cars does not change the fact that as long as you they are plugged into the exhaust stream you don't get a cel (rear O2). They are like this from the factory with no tune.

great input everyone. tuner sent me an emissions tune. so curently instaled a performance tune whice i will have to drive 100 miles to hopefuly set all monitors to ready. when tuning a car it will set all monitors to not ready, its like disconnecting the battery, as for the spacers i have, i tried non foulers baught at auto parts store, did not work. Ordered 90 degree spacers and usued parts of the spacers, that did work, no cel, no codes. the 90 degree would not fit due to the trans mounting braket. so now it is a drive and see if the monitors will become ready. purchased autolink al329 whiche will indicate emissions readiness.
