My emissions inspection is coming up soon. I have already contacted my tuner to get a tune revision. My question is what spacers have people been using when using Kooks headers? I would think that the 90 degree ones would work better but I just want to make sure that fitment is not an issue. My current mods are in my signature. Thanks.

Look for the ones with changeable inserts with 3 different orifice sizes. The middle, smallest insert is usually the one that will work.

AutoZone. Spark plug defoulers. Part number 42002. $6.99 plus tax. 15 min install on ramps or with a jack and stands and a 7/8 wrench.

The ones from AutoZone work just as well for less than half the price and you can get them now without having to order and wait. And they fit with no clearance issues.

Drill out the bottom fouler and leave the top one alone

I know this is a dumb question but how exactly do these help to pass with no cats?

They fool the 02 sensor into sending the correct mV signal to the ECU stating catalyst efficiency is within range...........

I wonder if the shop that’s going to install the Loki kit can do these. I’m assuming I would need two of them?

No shop is going to do anything that is illegal for anyone anymore. Or if they're smart and want to stay in business then they won't. This is technically a cheat method into making the rear O2s think something is there that is not really there and thus won't throw a code so you can get away without having cats. And if any shops are still using cheat methods after what happened recently, then they are foolish and can end up getting shut down and heavily fined. When your car rolls out of there it has to be within the limits of the law and without any cheat methods in place. What you do after you leave is on you. If that is the route that you're going then you have enough info in this thread to do it yourself. But you might get jammed up at inspection. I would not be surprised if they stuck a mirror under the car to look for these j hooks and extensions.

While this is the prudent thing to do, the reality is this is like saying because police officers patrol and it is illegal to speed no one speeds anymore. I realize there is a lot more to loose as a business, but the enforcement agencies are only so big; and this is true in all kinds of business; utopia is never achieved.
