There is this small rubber ring on the shifter column that has to be set and sitting properly. You may want to have a look if it is there.

I remember when I did some mods there, I forgot to put the ring back and was getting similar sounds

That's the neat thing, you dont. Ok, i tried as well.. i put some isolating material between the shift rod and spring and it helped a bit but in certain conditions i'd still get it. I think it's just a poor design with a lot of compromises. I also tried the billet lockout collar and it did NOT help my case of rattling. If anything it might have made it a bit worse.

Just replaced it with MGW and it's a pretty sweet unit, it is quite a bit firmer to shift though so theres that.

I wonder if there’s a gated Mustang shifter 🤔
How I wish the GTs got the Tremec trans and shifter.

Tremec, Yes, shifter, no. My stock shifter on my Tremec was hot garbage too.... A MGW fixed me right up... I had a horrible resonance especially in 2nd gear too...

I have this wild theory that it’s my clutch. Can a bad or worn clutch cause vibration at higher RPMs?

Because I can feel griddy vibration through the clutch pedal when shifting

It could also be from the gearbox itself, the drive shaft or the flywheel.
My MT82 (or something from the above) also makes vibrations between 5500 and 3500 rpm when thrusting, I will go through warranty in 4 weeks.

What part would make the transmission vibrate and the clutch pedal vibrate as well? Could something be touching the frame of the car, like headers, that would cause this much vibration?
it feels like my shifter is going to vibrate loose

What’s interesting is when I am going around a bend aggre, and I shift at that point, it goes in buttery smooth, and doesn’t vibrate. But once the car straightens out, the vibration comes back.

This vibration also happens when I am in neutral and rev. I feel like something is touching the firewall and vibrating the entire car
