Ok thanks to all who jacked my thread, but does anyone have an answer my question in the first post? Thanks.
I think some of us are trying to educate. Sorry for the hijack. If you do mix just make sure the 100 octane doesn't contain any lead. Curious as to the price of 100 in your area? Thanks. :)

Don't run your brand new mustang like a 2 stroke quad bike going from gas station to gas station mixing fuels around. Just run the highest octane fuel in your town, and if you feel like going out drag racing empty out your fuel tank till the range says 0 and fill up half a tank of 100 octane (less weight at the track with half a tank) . Here's a chart of mixing 91 and 100 if you absolutely want to do so: http://www.focusst.org/forum/attach...yone-playing-100-octane-91-oct.-mix-chart.gif

If you want to obtain 93 octane you can mix 54% 87 octane with 46% 100 octane. All refiners refine only two octane grades, one high and one low and then mix them in proportion to obtain the various octane grades.

Thanks. The closest station in San Jose, Ca has 101 octane for 7.50 / gal

That's perfect! Let us know how the mixing goes I have a friend with a Porsche that wants to run 93 out here in Arizona since that's the minimum for those cars!

So nobody offers 93/94 octane fuel in my town, but there is a 76 station that has 100 octane. So my question is: Is it the same as filling 15 gallons of 93 is I were to fill say 10 gallons of 91 and then 4 or 5 gallons of 100? Or does it not work like that to mix diff octanes? Thanks.
Thanks. The closest station in San Jose, Ca has 101 octane for 7.50 / gal
so are u gonna try to use 101 octane? lol.. i tried it today car felt different lol..the only thing is my bama tune is on 93 oct

From VPfuels website

NEW! VP101™
Oxygenated with ethanol, VP101 has the highest octane rating of any street legal fuel on the market while meeting both Arizona and California Air Resource Board (CARB) requirements. VP101 was engineered for high-performance street cars including sport compacts, muscle cars, street rods and more. It's environmentally friendly and street legal throughout the U.S. In applications with anything from 4- to 12-cyclinders or engines equipped with a turbocharger, supercharger or nitrous oxide system (NOS), VP101 will generate optimum power and performance. In turbocharged or supercharged applications, it allows an increase in boost without fear of detonation. NOS users can also leverage their higher octane ratings to step up to a more powerful nitrous oxide system. Dyno tests with a turbocharged application proved VP101 generates up to 14% more horsepower compared to premium grade 91 octane unleaded gasoline. Designed for use in cast-iron head engines with CRs up to 13:1 and aluminum head engines up to 14:1. Works well on the latest generation of electronically-controlled turbo engines. Contains no metal compounds and won't harm catalytic converters or oxygen sensors.
It says oxygenated with ethanol. Don't ask me how that works because ethanol isn't oxygen although contains some I believe in its formula. Doesn't say how much ethanol though.

Ya I just put 3 gallons of the 101 with 11 gallons of 91 to get around 93-94 octane. I dont think it should be an issue.

VP 101 has 10% ethanol. It is a street legal 101 R+M/2 unleaded fuel and it is oxygenated. I actually called their distributor here in Los Angeles regarding this and he confirmed its 10% ethanol. Its the only race fuel that is legal now in California to be issued from a pump. California started to crack down on race fuels. I still buy VP MS 109 unleaded 105 R+M/2 unleaded oxygenated fuel but I can only get it in pales. I have to sign a waiver that I am using it for a motorsport event coming up.

Most newer cars can actually handle a methanol content up to 15% now, although I would rather keep it to 10%.

You will not feel a difference in the seat of your pants in the amount of power produced by the car when it's filled with fuel higher than 87 octane ... unless you have vivid imagination.

It's a waste of money to use anything but 87.
