You will not feel a difference in the seat of your pants in the amount of power produced by the car when it's filled with fuel higher than 87 octane ... unless you have vivid imagination.

It's a waste of money to use anything but 87.

Won't feel it? Absolutely agree.

Waste of money? When I'm running 93 and you're running 87 and I beat you (even if it is by a nose hair), I win and its money not wasted.

Another troll posing his own opinion as something he thinks everyone should take as fact.

IIRC the engine should run at a cooler tempriture because there is less detonation, besides usually the price difference is not that much considering how much you pay for insurance and payments on the car its part of the package owning a v8 muscle car I aint driving a prius yo! Lol

octane? yes mine is quite noticableble with 91 over 87 if I am givin her hell.. Not sure how u couldn't tell. As for mileage, on the flats I get the same with all grades, In the mtns on the long uphills, its does better with better fuel. Driving around normally, 87 is all you need, but I will pull away a length every gear on my buddies when he has 87. I usually run mid grade and its happy enough.

Not true at all. If there was that much detonation to make a temperature difference, your pistons would be toasted. They would be melted and blown to bits long before temperature would be seen.

The whole purpose of higher octane is to allow more timing WITHOUT detonation

These are not diesels.

Please do not spread information that is completely false. That's as bad as opinions.

So I was told wrong, either way I've never filled anything other than 91 since all my cars were tuned for that specific octane, that information or opinion was something my mechanic would tell me that i should always run 91 or i could risk blowing the engine etc. I think its just preference at the end of the day. I just wish we had 93 here in AZ all the more encouragement to get whippled

Ditto, I felt a hell of a lot difference in acceleration after I finished the dealer filled 87 tank and swapped fuel for 91 it might be psychological but at least i have the peace of mind when driving.
