I have the Airaid and MBRP street exhaust. No tune. Do I care if it does not get all the power it could? No. But I also don't throw any codes and have had 0 issues. Oh - and I get a couple extra MPG. And it sounds friggin' awesome.

I was thinking about getting just the Airaid intake tube and using the existing stock box with my drop-in K&N, No tune required. It's half the cost and I think that's the most restrictive piece to gain a few horses.
What do you guys think?
Exactly what I did. No tune yet, but soon though.

MMR. Not powder coated, just regular paint. A tune is required but their site says otherwise. Installation instructions would've been helpful but I guess real men don't need no stinking installation instructions.

I'm running the steeda intake. You do not need a tune with the insert in. It did feel like it picked up 5-8hp but the car also developed a low rpm stumble when accelerating out of a corner or off the line at wot. I suspected it was the increase in tube size. I bought their tune for the insert in (1.99 60ft [email protected]) had one clean pass and slight stumble every other pass. So i tried their tune without the insert in and made the problem %100 worse (2.04 60ft [email protected]) crapping out every pass off the line. Waiting on a brenspeed tune without insert to see if it goes away. Also tried SCT tune which had no affect. I have an auto w/3.55 I think the sticks get away with the lower air velocity? Might go back to the stock air box or the k&n (3inch tube all the way)

Hey just out of curiosity did you have traction control on?

Yes traction control was held 5sec for fully off. 4th gear Jon force burnouts before each run. We need someone with an auto and a jlt to chime in and tell us how great it runs at low rpm. If so what tune they are running.

I feel like the low end sucks on my GT, feels like a V6 until it gets the RPMs up. Only mod I have is the Ford Racing catback. Hoping a tuner improves the torque at low RPM.

The tune will help a little. Steeda has a good stock air box tune. Brenspeeds is more aggressive but slightly choppy with the throttle. If you went 3inch cat back sell it and do 2.5inch with an H pipe. Also stick with the stock air box and drop in k&n filter for max low end.

Interesting, so far I just have the Airaid MIT with the stock airbox and SCT preloaded 93 octane tune.
I can tell a difference from stock and it pulls hard thru the powerband. I was going to try an AFE filter after I run this a while. Don't like K&N.
No stumbles, but I have no idea what I'm making.
The only exhaust mod is a x-pipe res delete.

Why don't you like k&n? The problem I've been having is with the larger air tubes. They slow down the air flow threw the MAF and cause a slight delay(stumble) at low rpm. Especially when its hot or at altitude when the air is thin. I've had the steeda cai die at an idle @95 outside. I figured it was the aluminium soaking heat and making the low signal issue even worse. This is why jlt 110mm has such a problem. Its been in the 90s here and I previously could not burn out in 1st gear with the steeda cai. Now with the k&n it will start to spin at low rpm but by the top of 1st its roasting the tires.

Calling out OKC #1 spot after axle back install.
I ran a Steeda CAI with the insert with no issues.

Have you ran it in the quarter mile under a load? Mine crapped out every pass off the line. Do you have a manual?
