I installed the MMR (they said no tune required) but the throttle response is terrible. I also have free-flowing exhaust so maybe the combination. Needs a tune for sure.

Don't waste your money, an intake without a tune does nothing.
Thats a bunch of bs the only reason some require a tune is because of the size of the tube and mass air flow sensor placement which has nothing to do with making hp.If u have a s/c then a tune is more needed not n/a.Depending on intake i got 8 rwp on dyno with my intake with no tune.

I can recall adding a cold air intake to 3 v-8 Hemi's and noticing a MUCH improved sound during acceleration and they looked really sharp under the hood..........never tuned any of them.
Basically I guess if I can get a nice intake to a)look sharp and b)sound aggressive/throaty then I'm gonna be okay with that. I'm wondering if the Steeda can accomplish that.
