They're perfectly fine and actually preferable to the Torsen for hard launches or drag racing. Torsen is better for road courses but if you launch them too hard they'll grenade and there is no simple rebuilding the clutches like you can with the TrakLok.
Yup, mine grendaed. It sucked having to buy another one.

So wait, is that an open diff then??
All mustangs have an LSD only the GTPP and GT350s have torsen, All the rest have T lock- no S550 was built with an open diff

An open differential will apply power to the wheel with less traction while the opposite wheel receives little to no power. They suck

Yeah, screw that

Read about Torsen and I want one, definitely saving up for lots of parts for next year

All V6 Mustangs came with 7.5" open-diff rear ends until 2011 when they all started having the same 8.8. The one wheel peel on the 7.5 is hilarious since just the passenger side wheel will spin (you seriously cannot try to look cool doing a burnout on an open diff car). Also pretty dangerous on slick roads, doing an 8.8 rear swap was one of the best safety mods I've made on my car.

What I don't like about torsen diffs is they will spin one tire then spin the other, rince and repeat till you are going fast enough for equal traction.

Every model has the same Traction-Loc clutch-style differential with the exception of the GT with Performance Package and the Shelby GT350/R.
The Eco HPP has a torsen. The Trak-Loc can be made to work with extra plates for more locking, but it is limited. The feeling of the Torsen on throttle is different than an open or the Trak-Loc. It has the effect of helping to turn the car. If you're not comfortable with it, you might think the car is getting loose, but really it's just uneven drive load across the axle. Once you're used to it, you can use it to your advantage.

I suppose it's possible, but this is not normal. You've got something else going on.

The post you've responded to was little dated, not sure if you noticed ;-)
In 2015, no one heard about HPP Ecoboost.

LOL, I missed that. Your post is recent, though. Are you _sure_ you're getting this oscillation side-to-side?
