Howdy, I'm also looking to run a second set of tires/wheels for cold weather / all season.

I'm not clear on the differences between HP vs non HP from a wheel clearance perspective. It always seems threads focus on the inverse of this.

Does anyone have pictures of the standard Mach 1 wheels on an HP Mach 1? Does it look silly?

They look fine, they're just tucked in a bit (an inch). It's not an issue at all looks-wise with the lip mouldings. I have a few pics as I run a winter set too.

Make sure the diameter is kept similar for both sets. With HP 305/30 and 315/30 R19 it would mean 255/35 (or 265/35) front and 275/35 R19 rear for example (0.8% diameter difference). Like HP tyres it would sit lower a bit than with profile 40 regular tyres (this is a reason why I went for profile 35 for HP wheels in the first place, so I can keep standard profile 40 tyres on the winter set).

I'm glad you pointed out the OD difference. I would have missed that. Since I run stock HP wheels and tires, with the stock non HP tire od, that would have been taller than I was anticipating. Looks like 255/35 and 275/35 r19s will be good

Is your car a euro market HP Mach 1?

It's Euro Mach 1 with HP wheels and lip mouldings imported from USA on my own :)
It has no impact on tyre/wheel discussion, chassis is the same.

Nick,
Everytime you take pictures of your area it looks like somewhere in a European movie or classic painting . It’s simply stunning where you are. I’d expect to see a castle in the distance. It almost look’s weird to see a modern Mustang in the picture…

Thanks. These are actually a year old photos, you probably saw them already. I don't take many pics, I usually just drive, make a round trip back home, no stops 😁
Some cities have nice historical squares with parking space in the middle so nice pictures can be taken. I was in this city Čáslav this year to see a classic Porsche meeting for a change :)

Well, you know, Nick is living in Europe . But I guess he must be in some secret program which tries to bring more tourists into a countryside or suburban areas, because we have already too many in major cities :D. So good job @Charlemagne!

On the side note, I believe we (Czechs) were quite lucky during WWII that almost nothing from the past was destroyed (it was actually not luck alone, but this would be a topic for a different forum).

Anyway, you may visit the Czech Rep. one day and find a Mustang even in the most remote area usually with someone of the familiar blood behind a wheel :).

Here you go... I run a set of base wheels with base tire sizes on my HP from November-April:

I've been agonizing over stock Mach 1 wheels or the same size pp2 style wheels. I thought I made up my mind, but these look darned good. Did you paint them? Ford performance sells them in the tarnished aluminum. The pp2 style wheels in matte black.

Also is your Speedo correct with the 40 series tires?

Daily my HP in the Michigan winters. Running Michelin X-Ice Snow 255/45R19 and 245/45R19 on the Base wheels (I wanted a bit of a lift; no issues with rubbing).
