Living in New York State....I've had front plates taken off my car or been ticketed for no plate...not worth it.

Truly sucks but what sucks more would be holes in my 2015 Stangs front bumper.

I know there was some discussion earlier on this but wondered if anyone has ever used this bracket system:

http://www.cjponyparts.com/license-plate-bracket-sto-n-sho-roush-2013/p/LPB30/

It's CJ Pony Parts, "Sto and Sho" Plate holder, # LPB30.

Looks easy to install and like it might be adaptable to the 2015 model.

Thoughts?

Not sure if they enforce the law in Ohio and I do see some sports cars in my area without...I just don't want to deal with the hassle or worry every time I drive by a police officer.
I'm also concerned that the Dealer maybe required by law to mount a plate before I take delivery. I'd have a heart attack if they drilled the front bumper.

Sure does look better without...but choosing the lesser of two evils!

I'm certain that bracket can be made to fit the 2015. I like it enough to order one and have it ready when new vert arrives.
I never gave it any thoughts until I saw this. I live in Illinois and will now tell my dealer not to drill the front bumper when I order.

they really don't I haven't been pulled over yet and know lots of people that don't run them. and make sure the dealer you ordered it through does NOT put the bracket on! my dad has ordered several new Taurus through local ford and they have to be told by customer before car arrives or they will drill it when they do the inspection. so better call or visit dealer and make it clear you do not want car if they drill into bumper

I definitely want the plate drilled into my front bumper, so that I can install one of these and not worry about completely scratching up my bumper:

My dad has one of those and it looks terrible IMO. It draws completely way to much attention to the plate and ruins the look of the car. No front plate is the way to go:thumbsup:Yes it's illegal in some states but speaking from experience most cops will not ticket you even if they pull you over.

yes....I already emailed my sales person...NO DRILLING OF MY BUMPER!! From watching the video of Sto and Sho and from the pics I've seen of the 2015...I agree, looks like this plate bracket should work no prob. I'll give CJ Pony Parts a call once I get my VIN.

Jimmy 2x's.....very funny pic....that and some push bars....I'm ready for the Australian outback!

The dealer is NOT required to mount a front plate in the state of NY.. If fact the dealer I got my last one from doesn't mount any on Mustangs unless the customer specifically asks them to.
I just keep mine off till I get my first ticket, with one car I went almost a year and a half :)

You might get away with that in OH, but NY is more of a stickler. I have been pulled over a couple times for no front plate, and was ticketed the last time. That was a $100 fine, before court fees. That might be small compared to some of the upgrades and mods we might make, but it isn't money that I'm interested in just throwing away at random. So, I'd say not running the front plate is a poor option.

Gary, what dealer are you dealing with? I'm probably going to order from Van Bortel. They seem to have the best combination of price and being helpful around.

I drive by their lot regularly enough, but I was turned off by that dealer way back when they were Koerner Ford. For whatever its worth, Van Bortel's price policy is typically similar to or slightly better than X-plan. But I've also found them good to work with over the years.
