I remember the Koerner Ford way...."gangster car sales".....they were pretty tough to deal with.
I actually tried to get someone to call me early from Van Bortel but they didn't respond. My sales guy at Cortese was good to deal with. NOW if I can just get a bloody VIN!

I'm resigned to the fact that it will be here when it get's here.

Glad VanBortels has worked out for ya. Let us know what and when you place your order.

You might get away with that in OH, but NY is more of a stickler.
As an OH resident, I've seen a number of folks be OK for awhile, but eventually they were the proud recipient of a citation. Ugh!

I prefer Craig's Custom Brackets (which I reference in the other thread that I linked in the post above) over the hideaway bracket because of the ease of installation and ongoing durability.

Hey Tony, I just checked out Craig's bracket...easy on and off for sure. I think I like the location down lower on the Sto&Sho better. Just a personal preference. I like seeing as much of the front grill as possible.

It's nice to have choices :)

Hey EXP and GSTANG I'm a Rochester boy, too. I also had a good experience at Van Bortel. They let me test drive a 13 V6 and GT all alone. The sales guy is Paul Bowers. Put me on a list for the '15.

The guy at Cortese was nice also, but he came along on the drive, all 250 lbs of him.

You might get away with that in OH, but NY is more of a stickler. I have been pulled over a couple times for no front plate, and was ticketed the last time. That was a $100 fine, before court fees. That might be small compared to some of the upgrades and mods we might make, but it isn't money that I'm interested in just throwing away at random. So, I'd say not running the front plate is a poor option.

Gary, what dealer are you dealing with? I'm probably going to order from Van Bortel. They seem to have the best combination of price and being helpful around.
I understand what you are saying but my mach gets driven only on nice days etc etc 03 with 11k miles so doesn't move a whole lot lol moved a lot since I've owned it compared to other owners but no front plate will ever be on it

I was just reading HB 577. So yay MD. I'll be sure to tell my dealer not to install the bracket they ordered.

I miss my TR '03 Mach 1 that had 98xxx miles when I got rid of it, can only imagine how nice yours must be with that low of miles.

I got to excited when I saw this bill from the 2013 Session. Looks like it never went up for a vote and is dead.

In New York there are red light cameras and toll booth cameras that take photographs of your front license plate to ticket you and/or track you if you're driving into Manhattan (which I do basically every day). I don't know about upstate, but you can get in SERIOUS trouble for refusing to put on a front license plate downstate here (since that would be taken as an attempt to avoid the terrorism-scanning cameras that track every car in lower Manhattan).

In any event, like I said, I'm really happy to have a front license plate drilled in, because that lets me use my Bumpshox, without which my front bumper would just be mangeld beyond belief and an endless stream of dents and scratches. I highly recommend the product for anybody who has to street park their cars:

Noted. Mine's a year or so out before I order, so I hope yours comes first. In the mean time, I'll continue to drive my '99 LE. Either of you guys ever go out to the Log Cabin on Wednesday nights?
