I might have said this 5 or 6 times before (!), but after looking at those photos again, that GT badge is really not the best look. Pretty sure I'll be replacing that with the US panel - and this from someone who doesn't much like external mods and would have been happy to keep external appearance stock. Almost as annoying as those clear lens, but at least there is some sort of rationale for that ...

Updated ETA, car to be delivered to dealer at the end of May! and to expect updates weekly!

So just an update on this..... 10 days on, and no 'Weekly' update :lol:

Expectations being met in every way.
(note: present day expectations, are very different to expectations when deposit was put down.) :doh:

So from July 2016 onward builds will be MY2017 with Sync 3 etc?

First of the my2017 are August as factory has July holiday, maintenance and retooling. Plenty of posts around here on the actual dates for the model change over...

MY2017 features still unknown at this time so plenty of speculation and rhd models have unique spec from lhd cars although colour changes have been announced with three changes from memory. DIB, CO and one other going, search forum for details...

So mine will be a '17 then. Told it will be built in September. Going on what we've seen from Ford so far, I have a sneaky feeling that they won't change the RHD cars much, but we'll see. I wonder what happens if you have ordered a colour that is being deleted? Will they use any excess paint on Oz-bound cars? Stay tuned ...

When did your order? Placed my order at the end of June 2015, have an NSC number and promise of an April build, but nothing definite. How did you get such a specific date?

On topic, I placed my order in April 2015, and have been advised a build date of June 2016 after being promised to have the car in Australia at that date originally so you may be in for a longer wait.

I ordered 14-July-2015 and was always told Sept 16 delivery....I then last month got in touch with Ford Australia Via Facebook and they advised me the below

Hi Daz, your Mustang is earmarked for June 2016 build. We suggest you come back to us in the first week of June and we'll see what further info we have available, eg. a VIN. It generally takes 85-90 days from day of build to when you receive your keys. Thanks for now, FordService^JS

Ha I swung by Power Ford and took it for a spin too, great car but yeah the 4 cylinder just didnt have enough power and was too quiet.

Ordered mine 8th August 15th, due to be built August 2016 for a November delivery, around that time they were at a 15 month wait time for delivery.

It's only longer now

So I ordered 24-July-2015 and was told October 2015 delivery (I know). I also contacted Ford Australia Facebook a month ago and was advised.

"We have investigated and can see that your Mustang is set to be built in May this year. We don’t yet have a VIN number but if you would like to message us back at the end of April we will be happy to see what new information is at hand. Your VIN will be assigned closer to May. Thanks FordService^CZ"

Very very rubbery dates. I understood it was first in first served. I'm almost hoping for a delay at this stage as it's unlikely the new model won't be better in some respects than the current one. On the other hand they may just keep the RHD production line running until all the current orders are filled. On the 1st Feb I asked about the timing for the model change for AU mustangs and they replied.

"there are no plans at this stage to change the build of the Mustang. All is remaining the same. Thanks FordService^CZ"

I wonder if they'll fill all of the first batch orders by July? There's about 300 mustangs being imported each month and its 4 months to the beginning of July so they should manage 1,200 cars. One advantage of being at the end of the line is our mustangs won't be sitting in the snow, ice and blizzards and our winter is comparatively mild.
