I look at it from the point of view that my pony is undergoing acclimatisation training. Current temperatures there are similar to winters here, although perhaps without the snow storms.

So I ordered 24-July-2015 and was told October 2015 delivery (I know). I also contacted Ford Australia Facebook a month ago and was advised.

"We have investigated and can see that your Mustang is set to be built in May this year. We don’t yet have a VIN number but if you would like to message us back at the end of April we will be happy to see what new information is at hand. Your VIN will be assigned closer to May. Thanks FordService^CZ"

Very very rubbery dates. I understood it was first in first served. I'm almost hoping for a delay at this stage as it's unlikely the new model won't be better in some respects than the current one. On the other hand they may just keep the RHD production line running until all the current orders are filled. On the 1st Feb I asked about the timing for the model change for AU mustangs and they replied.

"there are no plans at this stage to change the build of the Mustang. All is remaining the same. Thanks FordService^CZ"
I got the same message and ordered the same time as you.

Got my VIN finally. ETIS and Window Sticker process is still not there yet. I am expecting an April build. But happy after ordering this back in March last year.

I got my VIN on the 29th FEB finally... things can actually start rolling close to a year after deposit paid.
No window sticker yet. (assuming its thursday night in the USA now, i guess it might be updated next thursday (our Friday))

Expecting a March build and have had 4 updates from my dealer to expect late May delivery.

Been a while since I bought a new car.

Do we still need to get a bank cheque if paying by "cash", or have dealers moved on to a more efficient electronic method these days?

I'd pay them in 5c coins, since they made me wait so long, just to make them count it all.:D

The bastards will get ongoing "fees" in the form of interest once my mortgage offset account takes a 60K hit!

Hi all got to test drive an ecoboost at my local dealer and was impressed overall, but am looking forward to the v8 as the turbo 4 didn't really do it for me.
I don't like the stripes.

Personal choice, and good on you if you want them.

You could do an electronic transfer if you are brave enough Drew.....our ground equipment department at work bought a van last week and sent the money electronically to the wrong person......guess what hit the fan......a few people are still scrubbing it off.
A bank cheque may be last years method but it's still safer.

I hear what you're saying, Bob.

Another advantage to a cheque is that the dealer pretty much has you by the nuts if you feel inclined to refuse delivery for whatever reason and they already have your funds.

Mistaken EFT's are quite common and can quite often only be reversed with the consent of the 'payee'.
