Hello all

anyone willing to share some sensible recommendations re replacement front and rear tyres for a stock 5.0?

currently running Pirelli P zeros and have lasted 12000 careful miles (which I still think is poor if you don't floor it).

I used Blackcirles as a supplier in the past and was quite happy with the service.

cheers

Ditched the P Zeros within a year, back in 2016, got MPS before MPS4S were released. Then fitted MPS4S to my new wheels about 2 years ago.

Difficult to say, I work from home now so I'm only doing 4-5k a year but the grip is miles better 🙃

I'm at about 5500 miles on my OEM P-Zeroes and the tread looks pretty good so far. I haven't experienced any traction issues with them, but I admittedly don't really push the car very much. I just ordered new wheels wrapped in Conti Extreme Contact Plus DWS06 tires based on forum advice. I'm not a big fan of Pirellis generally.

Many thanks, I have not been impressed with the life span of any of the Pirelli tyres that I have had on cars and so I read your experience to be similar to mine, with interest. However the alternatives seem to have much worse economy rating than Pirelli, except Hankook- supposedly developed for BMW.

Of course, I know this is a performance car but that's not to stop us trying to get the best 'all round' deal...

There's the new MPS5S, you might want to read the reviews on those though. My neighbour swears by another brand but I can never remember which ones they are.

I haven't experienced any traction issues with them, but I admittedly don't really push the car very much.
I found the limit of the P Zeros @ 20 mph on a dual carriageway sized roundabout, it doesn't take much for them to send you sideways. The car was stock, wasn't even in sport mode. Ford must have realised we don't all drive on perfect roads, in nice, hot weather, as they started fitting the 2018+ with MPS4S

If you want an all season tire, I'd go with Conti Extreme Contact Plus DWS06 or General G-Max AS (very similar and Conti owns General). If you want a more performance oriented tire, I have been happy with the Conti Extreme Contact Sport 02.

Currently on Continental sport contact 7 tyres and rate them highly, usually buy Michelin but glad I didn’t this time.
Ditching the Pirellis will be the best mod you’ve ever done!

Got 52.000km out of my factory Michelin PS4S. this included ~20 light rounds (09m:20s) around the Nurburgring. Try 'em out, they're great.

I have over 12k on my MPS4S and there's still plenty of rear tread.
