Yep. I just chatted with Michelin online support and they couldn't tell me about any 305/35/19 that might have been unlisted.

So do people recommend just go with the 295/30 and 305/30 (or square with 305?) and the sidewall height change is really no big deal?
My personal thinking it should be fine. You will drop your car about half inch lower because of that. And GT350R comes with 30 series tires from factory.
There is one issue I can imagine now is the speedometer. It will be slightly off.
For instance if your original rear tire size is 305/35/19 from factory and you change the rear into 305/30/19, your speedometer will read 70mph when you actually driving 67mph. It's not a big issue other than imperfection and waste about 4% mileage. But you can always use Forscan to fix that easily. There is a post about that in the forum and I used that on my car and it works perfect now.

Me crazy, and I can't help myself
Its highly likely that our "supersports" are in fact PS4 in rubber compound and internal construction. Some Porsche came with SuperSports that were labeled "PS2" because they came out shortly before the SuperSport was publicly available.

What I'm saying is go ahead and get PS4 when you need new tires, but don't expect some new transcendent experience.
ah - now i understand.

when i saw the tires at the NAIAS it was interesting that the new 4S tires had an almost identical tread pattern to the cup 2's

Fair enough that 305/35/R19 is a screwball size - but according to Ford its our OEM size.
Front 295/35/R19 -> 295/30/R19 = -4.2%
Back 305/35/R19 -> 305/30/R19 = -4.3%

I dont see it as an issue as of this moment (especially here in the US) but it makes it interesting in Germany for example (depending on my job this year I may return back to Germany) - and the German TUEV does not like anything >2% difference. While there may be leeway in arguing that the GT350R with those sizes is basically the same car, its still a number on paper that needs to be discussed according to the rules (I know.. sticklers for rules.. :D ).

I seem to remember a post in the FORSCAN thread that our speedometer could be adjusted just by changing an entry? That may solve that issue - but that would open up a whole different can of worms - who guarantees that the speedometer is correct... :frusty

[EDIT]Thanks zzj, that pretty much confirmed the second part[/EDIT]
[EDIT2]Does that mean the R speedos are off by 4% in general, or are they already adjusted?[/EDIT2]

Would the odometer be affected as well? Does the Forscan tweak fix the odometer too?

My Escort Radar Detector tells me my exact speed.

That's annoying they're not making the 305's. Or even the 315's for the the R

Assume you have the experience with FORSCAN.
All you need to do is go to BCM line 726-12-01
If you rear tire size is 305/35/19, you will have the following xxxx 0843 xx (x's mean leave the value that's already present.)
If you want to change it to fit 305/30/19 rear then you change it to xxxx 07E6 xx
If you want to change it to fit 315/30/19 rear then you change it to xxxx 07F8 xx
If you want to change it to fit 325/30/19 rear then you change it to xxxx 080A xx

I used Waze map when I was driving and maintain a stable speed on highway to test the speedometer like 80mph or so since lower the speed the smaller the difference you can tell. Before the Forscan it was 4% difference just like it suppose to and after using Forscan to change the code it matches perfectly.

Thanks! Awesome stuff. Out of interest - do R's have 07F8 as their default setting then? I would assume so....

It suppose to be so since it only related to tire size. But I don't have R so I can't confirm. Theoretically if a FWD focus has 315/30/19 front tire it should share this same code.

What's annoying is if we have to go with a 30 series instead of 35 series not only does it lower the car, it also makes the wheel gap just that much more apparent. Install some lowering springs to fix the gap and basically your car is now a street sweeper.

Yeah, the wheel gap looks horrible with 30's... NOT.

Yeah, it's just my opinion. I also don't agree with the rear poke that you get from the R-spec wheel offsets. :shrug:

What really pisses me off is that I did an online chat wthrough the Michelin website and when I asked about these tires (because I was about to buy the PSS for my Audi but would wait for the 4S) I was straight up told that there were NO plans to release this tire in the United States. This was about 1 month ago. I think that's pretty low and will likely shop other brands in the future due to this.
