Hey guys glad to be here. Almost 40 years messing with car audio including a couple years competing in SQ and SPL but I have 1 question. I have a 2015 Ecoboost with the 6 speaker stereo. So mid bass lower door and tweeter in a-pillar. Planning on a Focal 3 way active setup. When I remove the door skins will there be the opening for the mid in the door or did they use a different stamping for the door without the mid?

The recessed area for the mid should be there, but there will not be a wiring harness for the mid. You will need to fabricate a speaker mount as well. If you know of anyone with the 9 or 12-speaker systems, try to borrow the mid speaker with the mount so you can fabricate your own. This will save a lot of hit or miss fabrication time. There isn’t a lot of free room behind the door panel for a big mid mounting plate. Also, if you go this route, make sure that you obtain the premium interior door panels to give you the grille opening in each panel.
