New guy here. Just picked up a '17 GT PP premium in Magnetic w/ red interior.

Have always been a Chevy (gasp) guy. Had a 53 Chevy pickup, a 72 Chevelle, 67 Fairlane, 68 Corvette, 67 Chevelle, and 71 Chevelle. I bought the 71 about 15 years ago as a project. Got the bidy done and painted and was starting in on mechanical. But the project ended up mostly sitting due to lack of time and funds. Fast forward to this year, our younger son graduated college, older son got married. I wanted to get back into the car scene, but the wife hated the chevelle. "It smells like old car" "there aren't any seatbelts" "do the brakes actually work in this thing". So I started looking at the mustang, camaro, and challenger. Didn't really care for the looks of the camaro, and they're EVERYWHERE! I liked the challenger, butbut couldn't find one that I liked that was budget friendly. And I really didn't like the interior. Loved the new look of the mustang and told the wife that when all of the stuff (college and wedding) was paid for, I was buying one.

I'd been looking for a couple months, made a couple ofoffers on both new and used, with no luck. Birthday came, and wife got me a mustang hat that was grayish, with red trim and white piping. I had already had my eye on this car, but wasn't a big Magnetic fan. But when she gave me the hat, I figured it must be a sign, and pulled the trigger.

Couldn't be happier. Now she wants to drive it and wants to cruise around.

Probably going to add a CAI, tune and upgrade the exhaust some, but not much more. I haven't seen any of the magnetic with the performance package with nickel luster wheels around here (KC)

Wife was telling me the same things when I was looking at older muscle cars. She convinced me to just buy a modern one, so I bought a Magnetic GT as well. She's not crazy about it, but she gets why I am.

Congrats on the ride! Enjoy it and for tunes, if retaining factory warranty is of importance to you, look into the Ford Performance tunes, I have the PP1 and I am very happy with it!

Good Sir, you don't have a muscle car, you have what used to be called a Pony Car. Today, they're GTs, or Grand Touring cars, or perhaps a Sports Coupe.

They sure as hell aren't muscle cars. Yours even has the PP1 on it, so it handles decently.

FYI, be prepared for tires to last a very short time.

Thanks for that, but I actually do know what the difference between muscle cars, pony cars and GTs are. I was just using the more common moniker in reference to the older cars I was looking at purchasing.

As for the PP1, you misunderstood. I have the Ford Performance Power Pack 1 tune. Alas, your eagerness to nitpick my erroneous usage of the Muscle Car label caused you to miss the context of my full statement.

PP=Performance Pack, not Power Pack. The "1" just denotes standard PP cars from the PP2 cars that came out in 2018.

https://www.americanmuscle.com/frpp-powerpack-1-1517gt.html

Prior to the 2018s with the PP1 and the PP2 optional performance pack levels which are in reference to a host of performance upgrades, including suspension and tires, PP1 and PP2 and PP3 was commonly used to reference the "Ford Performance" Power Packs custom tunes.

Seriously dude, splitting hairs...In the context of my full original post, anyone should be able to piece together I was referring to the Power Pack tunes, not the Performance Pack optioned cars. Context is everything.

You don't have to be correct all the time...think about it.

Relax...... I thought you were the OP, who has a PP car. It's just a case of mistaken poster.

Congrats! I like the color scheme. I have the power pack 2 and ford performance "touring" cat-back, would recommend both. What kind of sound are you looking for? The touring is loud enough for me with the resonator gone.
