If you use your garage as a shop, I would just leave the bare concrete, maybe pressure wash it. Those coatings aren't super durable against the various chemicals, flames, impacts, etc. that occur in a shop.

I spent a lot of time reading up on the various garage floor options from the site link below before I made my decision. Lot's of good info. They also say the box store epoxy stuff only lasts a few years before it turns ugly.

Looks like a Worx fan. I've found that cart to be a hugely handy although I wish they had an insert to make the bin a little larger for hauling soil and mulch.

My question is once you have such a great looking garage floor how do you keep it that way? With two daily drivers in the garage I'm constantly sweeping out leaves and debris. And of course in the winter the cars bring in all sorts of sludge which melts on the floor. Forget about any surface that might become slippery when wet!

The really good epoxy floors cost a lot and they do hold up well. Nothing is going to hold up to a brake rotor or a flywheel slamming to the floor, but a 3 bay garage will cost 5-8k for quality epoxy. I think the tiles are a good option, but we get into some heavy $hit in my garage and I keep it bare concrete and just give it a good scrub and degreasing a couple of times a year.

Huge WORX fan, great product. Couple blowers and extra batteries help keep it blown out and simply green keeps it clean

If you're going to go the epoxy route, make sure your floors are grinded to expose new cement pores--will help paint bond better to fresh concrete surface. Also, you could try putting a piece of cardboard under each tire for the first few months in order to prevent peeling and burning.

Built my garage entirely out of recycled wood, windows, door and it shows lol. Only thing I bought new was the R22 garage door & insulation. For the floor, built a subfloor then just some interlocking wood laminate I got it dirt cheap at home depot. Does the job pretty good

garage is 800 sq ft. lift is 1.5ft from wall. Garage is 33ft D. and 25ft W. with a 10ft H. 18ft door is the biggest you can get. My play ground..:ford:

Where in Southern .ca are you at? That garage is impressive...having the land to build it on in so cal is more impressive lol

Ours is a 2 car garage, 20x20; we ordered the floor tiles and did the install in a weekend a couple of years ago.

My garage, this pic was taken right before our hurricane, notice how I took the tools of the wall's pegboard so they wouldn't be shaken off onto the car during the storm, like that was going to be my worst problem,lol.

As far as the floor goes, I just ordered two car mats, I only have the one car so usually I park in the middle of the garage, one side of the wheels on each mat but because of the storm I needed the other side to pile the pool lanai furniture and the deck plants on on.

Hm, y'all are giving me ideas.

I have a 960 sq ft shop in my backyard. I'd like to do something with the concrete but I'm not sure what.

The thing is, is that my shop is not only for automotive work (with a Max Jax lift to come) but also for fabrication. I do a lot of work with torches and welding and so there are hot sparks and bits of slag flying around rather frequently; I'd imagine this could melt into something like VCT or Race Deck.

Because my shop is already populated with equipment I'd have to either lay deck in the interior or do one quadrant at a time over a period of weeks.

Any thoughts?
