Lol I am in Illinois and wondering if American buyers are also not a priority for Ford anymore eitherI am French and France is not a priority for the Mustang. We are many buyers into this situation.
2 days ago mine was scheduled for delivery 21-28 Feb (which I never believed), now it is 21 March. Hopefully that date will hold.Missed it by THAT much. From what I can tell, they got the steering wheels the week of the 25th. Those of us built in the two weeks prior (me on 2/18, you between 2/19 and 2/22) got dummy wheels and are now off to the side waiting to be upfit with the correct parts.
"Sometime mid-March" would seem to be the best one could hope for. I'm thinking late-March to mid-April on mine, so the same 5 months as you. Comes with the territory of getting exactly what you want.
I feel your pain...from Spain. This is my second order in less then an year. The first one never arrived...I am French and France is not a priority for the Mustang. We are many buyers into this situation.
Why never??? Lost order?I feel your pain...from Spain. This is my second order in less then an year. The first one never arrived...
That would mean you dealer screwed up. Not very surprising that dealers suck. Not all mind you. Mine was pretty good as far as dealers go. They still have some points that are not great, but they have been pretty transparent. Its the dealers that don't tell you anything or just flat out lie. Also this is not a Ford problem exclusively as I have never bought a car that afterward I felt like I just got dunked in slime. The question is, how good are you at working through the slime to get to the good part underneath?I feel your pain...from Spain. This is my second order in less then an year. Good question. Made it back in may. ETA in november. Cancelled in December. Still on "awaiting shipment" by the beginning of February. Why never??? Lost order?
For sure the problem is dealer related but when I called Ford Spain basically they didn't give any support. That would mean you dealer screwed up. Not very surprising that dealers suck. That's a promising sign. We have the same blend date on our stickers (2/8) and your "In Production" reference date of 2/15 was one business day before mine (2/18). Those of us still on hold can hope that they're doing the corrections on a FIFO basis. If that's the case, I would expect that my EDD will update in the next few days. If not, then it may be random chance as to when cars get the correct steering wheels. We'll see.2 days ago mine was scheduled for delivery 21-28 Feb (which I never believed), now it is 21 March. I hope you are correct. You would think it would be easy to do based on how the cars are identified. If you car gets completed next week you might have it in March. That's a promising sign. So am I understanding correctly that Ford ran out of the leather wrapped steering wheels and that is what most of us are waiting on NOW? After we have gotten through the “too cold to work” plant shutdown and mexican worker no parts strike? This is getting to be a fricking jokeThat's a promising sign. Ford ran out of many parts due to the strikes in Mexico and shut the plant down from 1/17 to 2/11. When they restarted, per the Detroit Free Press, they had no steering wheels until 2/25, so all cars made from 2/11 to 2/22 came of the line with a dummy Lincoln Continental wheel installed and 8000 cars were placed in parking lots at the plant. Steering wheels became available starting 2/25, so all cars on the line since then have come off correct. Any steering wheels over the number needed for regular production are being upfit onto the cars in the lots, which are then placed back in the QC and shipping queue. So am I understanding correctly that Ford ran out of the leather wrapped steering wheels and that is what most of us are waiting on NOW? My Gawd I am NEVER gonna get this car!!Ford ran out of many parts due to the strikes in Mexico and shut the plant down from 1/17 to 2/11. In France there are the "Ford Stores" that are able to order Mustangs. Maybe it's quite the same in Spain. But, in store-groups, you can have "Ford Stores" and "basic stores" so, the basic ones can order through the Ford Stores and have virtually the right to order cars.Good question. Made it back in may. ETA in november. Cancelled in December. Still on "awaiting shipment" by the beginning of February.
It was a cool story. I don't know if for Americans work the same way but in Spain not all official dealers can take Mustang orders. This dealer lied about this aspect so in few words he had to "pass" the order to a second dealer and then things went south quite fast.
Neither the first dealer nor the second gave me any infos and back in July I even had to redo my order because the first dealer made a mistake in ordering process (forgave to add the EU custom pack 2) and only in that occasion he informed me about the "shadow dealer".
Back in november they weren't literally capable of telling me if the car was even produced or not.
I cancelled in December due to loss of faith and as I already told when I look at the status of the car by myself at the beginning of February it was still on "awaiting shipment".
I went to an other store (this one capable of processing Mustang orders directly) and now I'm waiting. Again. Btw this time I have a good feeling.
Yes is the same. I didn't use the term "Ford Stores" but that's it.In France there are the "Ford Stores" that are able to order Mustangs. Maybe it's quite the same in Spain. By the way, it was a really annoying situation for you...
