Thanks for all those details!
So, mine (European one) has been built on january 10th so I guess it had not have this issue.

Big thoughts to those who are awaiting their cars. I know that it can be really long.
I have been waiting for my car since 10/20/18 lol. They just moved my EDD to 3/1/19....we will see!

Window Sticker popped up today. Ordered 12/21/18, production set for next week, week of 2/25. EDD 3/8/19. Too soon, I don’t want it until Spring. Lol

401a with Safe & Sound, so leather wrapped steering wheel with the adaptive cruise control buttons, the same as mine. Perhaps you'll get stuck in steering wheel hell with me (also preferring delivery closer to spring).

It will also give us another data point - if you go from "In Production" to "Awaiting Shipment" without hanging out at "Produced" for an extended period of time, it means that the line has been re-fed with the wheels, and they're hopfully rebuilding stock to finish the cars sitting off to the side.

How long does production “normally” take?

3 to 4 business days. On my car with a 2/8 blend date, the tracking website showed it as "In Production" on February 2. However, according to Ford Performance, it actually started on the line on either February 12 (Tuesday) or February 13 (Wednesday). It switched to "In Production / Produced" on Monday, February 18, and has sat at that state ever since.

The website and Ford Performance both expect it to be delivered to my dealer by this coming Thursday (2/28). However, neither I nor the FP agent see that as a realistic occurrence.

About that, do you know a tool that can provide the same reliable information (EDD, transport...) for the european cars? It is really hard to track our cars, especially when "K" Line is te company chosen to cross the ocean.

If you have the VIN, there are a few Ford employees who can provide some tracking information at the blueovalforums website. It is, however, no different than the vehicle status tracking available to the dealer network, and goes no further than release to the US location for the shipping company. After that, I don't know of any way to track it.

Thanks.
So, I can only know when my car leaves the US even if I ask to BlueOval forums. I thought that it was possible to have a reliable way to track goods traveling with "K" Line as we can for WWL. Or even an identical way to track the cars as you have in the US.
It is strange that we do not have the same tools.
To be honest, somebody on a French forum found a boat that can have Mustangs on board (and thus, mine) but he did it more with the Sherlock Holmes way than a user friendly one. European people will have to wait to have such an app or website.

Well, it sure varies by manufacturer.

When I ordered my BMWs, I was able to track them all the way along once they were handed off to WWL. It was kind of fun chasing down web cameras. On my last one, I was able to get:

I lost track of the car once it was on the ground in the US, though. Overall, 2 months 2 days from custom order to delivery, including shipping it across the Atlantic. Puts my current "3 months 10 days and counting" into an interesting perspective.

We are in the same situation. I'm from Europe too and there is no way to track the car from Baltimore to Europe.

Back in the past WWL offered a tracking service: you used your VIN as cargo id number and you were able to track your car. Recently they changed this due to privacy and it' s not possible anymore as far as I know.

The EDT for us from Europe is the actually the day when the car hypothetically reaches the Baltimore harbour as far as I know.

Ok great thanks for the info. Mine went into production on its blend date of 2/19 and says it will be delivered in 4 days...but still saying “in production” on the online tracking site so we will see what actually happens this week. Acccording to your input, the car should be built by now...

Darn it - the website is lying to me now and Ford Performance reps are just guessing. Estimated delivery per the website is tomorrow. Well that is a big joke considering I have been stuck in “production” since 2/19. The dealer’s best “guess” is “sometime mid-March” which means a solid 5 MONTH wait for a vehicle I was promised to have by early February at the latest. Never ever ever again will I fall for this build your own vehicle sham by Ford.

Missed it by THAT much. From what I can tell, they got the steering wheels the week of the 25th. Those of us built in the two weeks prior (me on 2/18, you between 2/19 and 2/22) got dummy wheels and are now off to the side waiting to be upfit with the correct parts.

"Sometime mid-March" would seem to be the best one could hope for. I'm thinking late-March to mid-April on mine, so the same 5 months as you. Comes with the territory of getting exactly what you want.

If that can console you, mine has been ordered on april 2018 and they told me I should have it on last october. I think I will receive it mid/end-march but almost 1 year is really long for a Mustang. And, in addition to that, Ford gives no information and are not responsible, it's quite normal...

Wow! That is really a craptastic wait for you. And no one knows what is taking so long?? In hindsight, I would have settled for something different and gone on a wider search had I known the poor customer service and lack of accountability of Ford employees. However, even when I found something comparable back in last October via a website and personal contact with a sales rep to schedule a test drive for the specific car, when I drove 40 miles to test drive the car I “found” it WAS NOT THERE!! It really spoiled my appetite for hunting around because I feared other dealers would be falsely advertising their inventory as well!! Would be nice if people had information on our orders and accurate inventory advertisements. In my world that is called “doing your job” .... Ford must be excluded from that standard?
