Yes - new part was in the next morning, dealer reprogrammed the fobs and she drove home just fine. New BCM - no idea why it went bad but luckily warranty covered.
Just wondering now what caused this - and will it happen again? There are several scenarios when being stuck in Park could be much worse than an annoyance....
Thanks for your reply. Yes I did have brake lights and we did a five-minute battery disconnect which did not fix it. Towed it to dealer today and seems it was a BCM failure. Getting the new part tomorrow which should hopefully fix this.
Had a funny one today to revive this thread - so yesterday after showing my car off to relatives, hubby gets in presses start and car will not shift into gear. Towed to dealer today who says it is a BCM failure - gosh let’s hope so. They have ordered the part & should be here tomorrow...
Body Control Module (BCM) failure - part is on order SHOULD be here tomorrow. Supposedly under warranty - will be more at ease once she’s fixed for sure though.

Yes after we hit the Engine Start it still does not shift. Went back after an hour with another fob and still no go. That time not remote started. Did try several times also after remote starting and turning off - no luck
I had it remote started, hubby entered the car with the fob, got something out and I relocked the vehicle. Problem started after that. Do you think we confused the system?
So Ford’s promise to be done by late April was pretty much accurate, wow! Glad I had this whole experience though, boy have I learned a LOT about ordering Mustangs....
No allocation and caught in the steering wheel shortage was exactly my issue. But once the wheel got put on, the time it took to get my order to the dealer in Illinois was just a few days. Hopefully your location will help get you get yours sooner than some people in other states. Although...
