The only things I did not do that you mentioned above was find the Blue Oval site and demand that they “show me” they had allocation. So yeah, you got lucky. lol
Seems like a lot of people get lucky.

Most likely to the cold weather. Guessing someone was looking out for you so the SC2's did not crack while trying to get it on the train. I am happy that mine won't be built until 3/4 for the same reason.
First I got a build week of 2-18 got a notice today that the build day is now set for 2-22. How long for the car to be put on the train I asked they could not tell me. I contacted Michelin tires about the SS2 tires and being prone to cracking in cold weather, and was told if not driven on it is ok to be parked. They also said they were under warranty for 6 years for cracking.

Well, with the parts supply / steering wheel issue at the Flat Rock plant, things are in a bit of jumble.

In addition to producing cars for which they have steering wheels, they're also producing cars with dummy wheels (bare wheels off of Continentals, I believe) in order to keep the line moving. The dummy wheel cars are being stacked up all over (for example, they're currently filling the test track to the west of the plant). As the parts come in, they're going to need to be fit to the cars that require them, and then those cars will need to be QC'd and put back in the shipping queue.

This all promises to create several weeks of havoc. I expect the tracking website will be effectively inert for cars without the steering wheels, showing cars "In Production" for weeks, as they enter the line and then sit to the side. Shipping will also likely be hit.

Interesting times.

I think the cold weather delayed most builds by 4 days or so unless you are a lucky one like some of the folks above. What kind of “notice” did you get - my updates come from the tracking site which should provide you with an estimated delivery date. After the couple of days build delay, my estimate delivery date was pushed ahead 5 days per the tracking tool.

Lovely!!! So now you say the tracking site will just show me fake information because it likely won’t update to reflect delays associated with this Flat Rock issue? Is that the only plant building Mustangs at this time?

All Mustangs are produced at Flat Rock.

The tracking site only shows data as the cars change state. It will show as it enters production, but won't switch to "Awaiting Shipment" until it's actually done. If it's off to the side waiting for a part, it isn't "done". The tracking site also doesn't seem to do much of anything with the EDD until things actually change state, so if you're hanging to the side (you may or may not be), the delivery date won't change, as it will likely stay at ~3 weeks after the blend date until it sees something happen.

On the bright side, if you do see a change on the tracking site, it would appear that the car in question isn't effected by the parts supply issue.

Oh believe me, with the issues I have had ordering my car, my vehicle is sitting on the test track with a dummy steering wheel. This is just icing on a crap cake. I am not one of the lucky ones so am fully expecting to be sitting here in limbo waiting looking at fake info on the tracking site until the end of March. Never again will I order anything from Ford!!

Zook527 above says the website won’t update, cars will be in limbo due to a shortage of steering wheels - no specific type of car was stated. Seems to affected all Mustangs but I am assuming that from Zooks527 posts.

Currently, the only known issue is steering wheels for some undefined models. Ford is holding their cards close, and the information is coming from the Blue Oval forums via employees at the Flat Rock plant.

Some cars continue to be built and moved, probably because the different options have different graphics on the steering wheels, and some types are available. Best thing may be to check with Ford Performance for a specific VIN to see if they have a status update for it.

.My car, with a blend date of 2/8, had it's status updated yesterday to "Body Shop" according to Ford Performance From that, I'm assuming I'm in the parts shortage. As a data point, then, it appears that they don't have steering wheels for 401A GTs with PP1 and MagneRide. Then again, maybe the status change means that they did get the parts in for that variant. Who knows? YMMV.

My Mustang is just an Ecoboost with the 101A package. I called Ford Performance and they said there were no holds or delays noted for my vehicle in their system. Does that mean I am good to go? Who knows!!

I ordered mine on Dec 4 and had an EDD of 2/16. Unfortunately my car has shown as "in production" for the last few weeks and has not changed from that status ever since. 19' GTPP, 400A, A10.

That does not sound good. Have you tried to contact your dealer or Ford Performance about this? Maybe they can at least find out if your vehicle has a Hold or any other flag on it?

So mine was supposed to be delivered yesterday, and when I checked this morning it updated from 1 day left to 2 days left. On my windows sticker is shows a blend date of 12/31 does that mean that that when the car entered the production line? Need some clarification. Thanks!
