That's the one thing that might kill some of these ADM's as '22's hit the lots.
Yeah, at my dealer yesterday I noticed none of the new vehicles have window stickers. My sales guy said he's not looking forward to the challenges ahead.

I’ve noticed that some dealers did drop as for some reason I obsessively check on a regular basis just to see inventory. One has dropped their ADM on Mach1’s from 10k to 5 (2 of them) and another has dropped a couple K.

Having been in the fortunate position to be able to afford pretty much any of the toys in the GT, GT350, Mach 1 and even the GT500 range (although that was at the top end of my reach) I struggled with this question myself.

I looked around and ran into many of the same issues other posters mentioned; sold out, no allocations, can't find, can't dealer trade, blah blah blah.

I test drove a GT500. My heartbeat quickened, my blood pumped faster, rainbows were in the sky and velvet robes parted. Great, wrote that down as a "POSSIBLE"

I test drove a GT350R and very much the same thing happened. Wrote that one down as a "POSSIBLE".

I test drove a GT (without all the features I ended up getting) and guess what? The exact same damn feeling. Wrote that down as a "POSSIBLE".

Finally, I started to look at the cold hard truth of the situation.....

GT500: Over $100k here in Canada with options. Can I drive it year-round? Nope. Does it get more than 100miles to a tank? It would struggle. (gas being what it is today I'm glad I factored this in).

GT350R: That one was over $80k with the options. Can I drive it year-round? Probably not.

GT Premium: $65k from a Ford dealership 3 provinces over + $1800 to ship it to me. Guess what? I can drive this year-round if I'm careful.

With all the money I didn't have to spend I'm making this my own! I'm adding Steeda rims and a Steeda Magneride 0.5" drop. Oh, also a set of Nitto tires for those new rims since the factory ones have winter tires (Hakkapalita) on them so I can hot-swap.

On top of that, I'll be adding a GT500 front end from IKON (HERE) as well as the GT500 hood from Cervinis (HERE). All of the GT500 look without any of the GT500 costs. I also get the reliability of a naturally aspirated beast for daily driving as I currently use it to commute to the office two days a week.

Just some food for thought. Unless you are a serious track day person or have more money than you know what to do with, you don't NEED a Mach I when a GT will deliver much the same excitement.

Now if you were talking about a late 70's Mach 1 then I'm down, all the way! But you ain't so I isn't! LOL

The price delta on a mach 1 is pretty small when you option them up similarly. An order of magnitude smaller than what you are talking about. The biggest difference being what kind of deal you can find.

Agreed. However, in my neck of the woods Dealerships aren't offering DEALS on higher-end rides like that because they know that people that want them will pay for them. As an example; Mach 1 at the Ford Dealership down the street is in the Showroom. That is the ONLY one they have and it's been sitting there for a bit. No tire-kicker is going to be looking at something like that here.

Thing is, the price difference between GT PP1 and Mach 1 is pretty narrow (MSRP). Unless you don't want PP1 and Magneride, which I think is a must for the car to handle well on the curvy roads. There's lot of talk about track use, but you really want the car to handle well on the road in the first place, not be floaty or unsure etc. Lot of people mod their GT's suspension for this.

I guess it depends on what you consider to be a narrow price difference, in my area, apples to apples as far as features, the loaded GT PP1, equipped with the things I wanted is about $8,000-$9,000 less than the Mach 1 (if I could even find one - there really only a handful).

If you are going to track, definitely Mach 1 because of the added coolers. If you want a manual transmission I'd also lean towards the Mach 1. If however you want an automatic and aren't going to track, I just don't see it for most folks. But if you want a cool car without exotic pricing (GT350 or GT500) I'd also go Mach 1.

Yeah, I never took the C7 Stingray or the Grand Sport to the track, so I don't see it happening. I agree with you about the manual, I would definitely want the Mach 1 if I was going manual.

This is going to be a daily driver & honestly the cost savings along with this GT looking exactly like I want and having every option that I want has made it an easy decision.

Barring any huge surprises with Carvana picking up my GS tomorrow morning, I am going to get the GT tomorrow and appreciate everyone's input!

Let's compare them then with 2022 prices:
Mach 1 Premium in manual with no options = MSRP 57,290

GT Premium in manual with 401A (High), PP1, MagneRide, Active Exhaust = MSRP 54,690

The difference is $2600 in MSRP. Looks like it's even smaller difference than $3500 in 2021.
GT might have some discounts but Mach 1 can be had with -2% under invoice too from Granger. I deem those options necessary for me for spirited driving on the roads.

Be glad for such difference, because here in Europe the difference between such GT PP1 and Mach 1 is $10k from some reason...

Two must haves for me are non-Recaro seats and an automatic. I literally found maybe 2 anywhere close to me and I would be looking at $8,000-$10,000 more than the GT (assuming that the dealers were not marking those Mach 1's up).

Believe me, I have tried to find a comparable Mach 1 with those options anywhere close to me, even being pretty flexible with the color, so I am happy to find the GT that has everything that I am looking for for so much less (I am getting the GT for much less than it's MSRP where that is just not going to happen even if I could find a Mach 1 with what I am looking for).

If you limit yourself to cars on the lots, then yeah, tough luck, considering low inventory and ADM... With car of this price I'd accept nothing but my perfect dream build and no biggie to fly for it if it saves couple grand :like: There's at least two dealers with below invoice pricing.

But yeah, if you want it near you, it's not bad to get the GT with PP1 and MagneRide and tweak the suspension a bit to your liking.

There's things that don't have immediate price tag on themselves for me - for example Tremec manual or more sporty automatic, nicer front fascia, awesome rear end with GT500 diffusor and magnificent tailpipes. Looks matters to me too.
