In March my the motor on my brand new 2016 GTPP blew up due to cylinder 8 failure. I only had 5,500 miles on the car and it was never abused. Ford replaced my long block and I spent a lot of time arguing with Ford about extending my warranty.
Ford ended up only offering me a 75,000 mile 5 year warranty. I demanded a 100,000 mile warranty because my car already had 5,500 miles on it. Their 75,000 mile warranty was effectively just an extra 10,000 miles. The CSR would not budge no matter how many phone call attempts and she would not transfer me to someone that could get it done. She kept saying that there are no other options, which I know is a complete lie.
Last week I called them back because I had not heard anything in months and the CSR would not return my calls. Now Ford is telling me that the extended warranty is already finalized so they can't change it even if they wanted to.
I think this is ridiculous and they're giving me the run around. I've purchased two brand new vehicles from Ford in less than 5 years and this is how they treat me? All I'm asking for is assurance that their product will hold up, because so far it hasn't.
What can I do? I recieved the warranty paper work but never signed it or sent it in, yet somehow it is already written in stone on their end. I've modified the contract by scratching out the 75,000 miles and changed it to 100,000 miles. I haven't mailed it back yet. I know this probably won't do anything, but it's worth a shot if something happens down the road.
Any other ideas other than never buy Ford again? Because that's where this is headed. I'm not happy about how greedy they're being. I will be perusing lemon law if there are anymore issues with this vehicle, but time is running out on that.
