Need Help With Exhaust Gasket

Hi,

So I'm installing a pair of hellion 4 into 1 collectors for my turbo kit and I took old manifold off but in my infinite smartness forgot to check orientation of the old gasket. I have the new OEM gasket but it's beveled and I'm not sure if the beveled goes toward the block or away from the block??? I googles but didn't really find a concrete answer. I think the flat goes towards the block and the sticking up bevel goes to the exhaust manifold but I just wanted to check to be 100 percent since this passenger manifold is a PITA. I literally got a collection tank drained the R134A (or whatever it is) and disconnected the AC line, made it 100 times easier with that fat AC line out of the way. I'll just get it reserviced later. Thanks for your guys help though!!

The exhaust manifold gasket installation on the S650 Looks like that seal ring is going against the manifold ...

I would suspect the S550 gasket is the same other than the bolt pattern.

So the raised surface side is going to the manifold and the flat side is going to the head?

On the manifolds I've removed, the "ring" was against the manifold flange but the 2022 service manual I use makes no mention of orientiation so I wonder if it even matters?

If it mattered it would be printed on the gasket.

I’ve installed them flat side to the block normally.
