Having a bit of a challenge in the reinstall of the Transmission, i do have a decent transmission jack (NOW) after i get everything lined up and level, the last push i just can't get the "Pins" at the top to seat into the transmission, now the bolts all around line up pretty must perfect i can hand thread all of them, so should i just suck the last 1/4 inch with the bolts or is this signaling maybe the input shaft isn't seated right?

Is there any way to verify the shaft is in and good, should i remove the bottom panel plastic and spin the motor from the crank?

Thanks for any help..

If you have the clutch line reconnected to the trans slave, disconnect it. When it’s connected, it’s very restrictive exactly at the point you are. Brake fluid will come out from the slave but that’s ok as long as you don’t pull the trans back away from the block. I use a plug on the clutch line coming from the master cylinder to prevent fluid coming out of that.
Also if using a twin clutch setup, recheck to make sure the alignment tool moves in and out freely and in a straight fashion; not slightly offset.

Thanks for the tips, I didn't have the Clutch line connected at all, i'm pretty confident the twin disc is lined up, going to try some more tonight re-adjust the transmission jack and see if i can get the right "giggle" to get the pins to set in the bell some. This is 19 car with the mt-82 DT transmission, and you have to twist the transmission something crazy to the left and then back to the right to clear the Cat on the drivers side and not hit the transmission shaft into the clutch and clutch fins on the way in small 1/2in movements most of the time ... as you can tell i spent to many hours fighting with it so hoping for better luck tonight...

Well after a few more attempts, in the end i believe it was the clutch plates in the twin disk that were out of line causing the last 1/2" not to go, backed out the transmission, loosen the clutch, re-aligned plates, then on the second try success got the pins to just barely seat further than i had gotten before and I bolted it up.

Glad you got it worked out. Aligning twin disks can be a little problematic as there is so much circular play when using the alignment tool with loose discs. It’s really important to find as best center point and maintain that while tightening the pressure plate down securing the discs in that fashion. The input shaft gives you very little variation when going in compared to the alignment tool.
