Looking to tune my car

2016 PP gt
1" lowering springs
Cross cat back

run 93 oct

Looking to increase my 1/8 time but still drive on the street.

What's the best tune to get

I'm not sure how tunes work either if someone could explain. I'm assuming you just plug in and your good to go?

You'll hear a wide variety of answers. Lund, AED, Bama (in before people who have no idea what they're talking about run their mouth about Bama)), VMP, etc. All of them will achieve what you want to do. They've all got their ups and downs. Some have better customer service/response time, some give free retunes for any future mods, and some just have a great reputation for getting it right the first time or two. All of them will be fine as long as you datalog and get revisions. Your first tune is not supposed to be your final tune.

You choose a device (SCT, HPT N-Gauge, Diablo(w)) and the company you choose to write the tune provides the file. You upload it to the device and then plug the device into your obd2 port. From there, you load the tune and wait for it to finish. After it's done, let it rip.

Tune might cause you some problems if you require warranty work on the engine/driveline.. or so I've read in other threads.

I don’t want to hijack this thread but do tunes typically make the car quieter? I got a Bama tuned and noticed the car sounds either more refined or quieter?

Lund FF and a seperate E85 only tune here and I have nothing but GREAT things to say about them. Get a tune for sure, I dropped half a second and picked up almost 5 mph in the 1/8 after getting mine. Turned off the pesky clutch protection too which helped a ton!

What's up with e85 tunes. Are these better than using 93 octane

I have VMP. Just sent in data logs so we'll see how the base tune they gave me is doing.

If it is a true flex fuel tune (not just E85), it has adaptive logic (knock based) that allows you to run anything from 87 to E85 without flashing a new calibration.
