Anyone have experience with wot box on a 2019 gt? Think some wires might have been switched up can anyone confirm? Thought I was smart enough for this but quickly realized I wasn’t

There seems to be a difference of information and/or opinion on some of the wires that need to be tapped into. I just bought one of these myself for my 2019 Bullitt and decided to put the install on hold, until such time as someone does a detailed write up with pics on which wires to tap at the ECM. With as many Wot Box users as there are, it’s hard to believe that no one has done this yet. If you figure it out OP, please help us all by doing a write up on it. Thanks

I’m gonna spend some more time on it soon and try some different things out. Just having problem reading clutch and throttle position. I also can’t believe there isn’t a little more info on it but I’ll be sure to let you know

How far have you gotten with your Wot Box install? What part of the install were you having trouble with?

Skip it, I’m commencing surgery on this muthaducka! I’ll figure it out. I want to make all connections at the EMC connectors, instead of entering the car with the wiring at the firewall and having to jump over to the clutch switch. I’ll do a write up on it once I’m done. Be patient with me folks, as I will be in no hurry when it comes to hacking into the ECM wiring harnesses. I also have some other ideas to help make my install a little more user friendly in the event of a WOT Box failure. Stay tuned!

A Virginia man clings to life, after his Mustang mysteriously firewalled the throttle and the car drove off the side of a mountain.

News at 6PM.

Haha! Hey, Evel Knievel did it and he lived to fight another day. I figure I might be able to do it too.

Okay, I’ve been out here in the garage tracing wires and I’ve found the blue/orange clutch wire. You can either tap into it at the electrical connector for the clutch pedal switch, or catch it at the Body Control Module (BCM) located in the passenger side kick panel. I verified this by connecting a jumper to the blue/orange clutch switch electrical connector and locating the same color wire at the BCM plug. I then used my multimeter to verify continuity.

I spent a considerable of time unwrapping the three ECM plugs to access wires. Aside from the clutch switch wire, everything else appears to be on point in N2MB’s online instructions for the 2018+ Mustang, so I won’t be doing a writeup after all, but rather, a few cliff notes with some pics.

- Remove tape from three ECM plugs to access wiring

- Use a plastic pry tool to pry up the elbows (tabs on both sides) from each connector

Tip: Do not route the WOT Box clutch switch signal wire into the engine bay for manual cars, keep it inside of the car and access the signal via one of the two aforementioned locations. I wish I had known this before I taped up the WOT Box wiring harness (which I also cut to my desired length to avoid having excess wiring). I will mount my controller on the fuse panel door in the passenger kick panel area.

Here are some pics of the ECM plug prep and BCM clutch signal wire location.

I still have to connect my wires and button everything up. I’m still deciding whether I’ll strip the wire coating back and solder all wires, or cut them, solder and use heat shrink. That’ll have to happen later though, as it’s 4:26AM and I’m ready to hit the rack for a bit. I hope this helps clear up a little bit for the manual transmission users.

Wiring is complete! Now, I need to program the box and test it out. I ended up cutting the factory wires and then soldering the WOT Box wires to them. Man was it tight in there, especially the bottom ECM connector. I ended up removing the windshield washer fluid bottle to free up space while I was working. My fingers are crossed that everything will work perfectly.

Today, I followed the testing procedure which says:

1. Turn the ignition on and depress the accelerator pedal (light in WOT Box should flash rapidly)

2. With accelerator pedal still depressed, depress the clutch pedal (light in WOT Box should go out briefly, turn solid and then return to flashing rapidly).

Note: Step #1 produced the rapidly flashing light. However, when I depressed the clutch pedal to transition into step #2, the light goes out, turns solid and then goes into a slow flash, whereas it should return to flashing rapidly.

Here is a photo of the program settings for the WOT Box. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the Issue could be? I’m thinking it’s a programming issue. I’ll connect my nitrous controller tomorrow and confirm whether the tps voltage is set to rising or falling and attempt to reprogram the WOT Box appropriately.

The engine does start up, but the 2Step still doesn’t work. There are also no DTCs being detected. If anyone could post a pic of their settings for comparison, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

C’mon guys! Will someone please hook up your laptop, open the WOT Box software, take a pic of the screen and post it here to help a brother out? Thank you.

I don't think anyone uses that. Mustang folks aren't really into "2-step" stuff.

Just pretty much getting the car tuned is how most folks go.

You need to contact the manufacturer.
