Mystery part?

I found this in my trunk. Under the front license plate holder I told the dealer not to install.. Any clue what this is?

Looks like part of the door on the trunk latch
If you look at the latch and push on the plastic around it you will see that it is spring loaded and two piece.

Thanks for the quick responses / help! I checked my car both are intact and I have an extra laying in the trunk. Must have been a mess up on the assembly line, or break time lol.

Probably from the body shop forgetting it in the trunk when they repaired the rear of the car after it was totaled..............before you bought it of course.
