I knew Boostane wasn't the most plug friendly additive. And when it gave my black exhaust tips a slight orange tint I knew my plugs might look like pumpkins. So none of this is a surpris. But figured I'd post a picture for viewing pleasure.

Car 2022 GT: ESS G2, 93 Gas, Wengard tune, ect ect...

Plugs: NGk 6510, about 7-8k miles boosted. Gap 27-28

Boostane Usage: light usage, mostly a few Oz added to a half or full tank. Been on these Did it more for a little extra peace of mind not horsepower gain.

This is the first plug I pulled 😂 pretty ain't she? Zoom in, I actually got a decent resolution picture.

If I’m not running E (ProFlex), I just toss in 4 oz of Boostane per tank for a little octane insurance. And honestly, if I’ve gotta swap plugs every 10k miles because they’re out here rocking the Boostane Trump orange spray-tan… so be it. Cheap price to pay for peace of mind — and zero knock, zero drama.

I never noticed the orange affecting how the car runs
Same. I pulled the plugs just to check in on the gap. Probably just clean up the plugs and pop em back in, or just order a new set because well might as well.

Ive ran 14oz of boostane in every tank on my TT set up for 65k miles now. It turns everything orange but the only lifespan it seemed to shorten is the plugs. By 12k miles they'd be so caked up it would get noticeable. Id change them every 10k miles and I was good to go. Started running meth on top of the boostane and now they still turn orange but just in color. No more of that residue build up. They do clean up well with some vinegar amd a brush. O2 get really orange too but I ran the stock ones until 110k miles on the car with no issues. Only replaced them to test out a tuning issue but they were still in goid shape. If you're using a lot or boostane but the 5 gallon jug. Makes it a much cheaper additive.

✍ don’t use boostane unless it’s for dyno purposes. Got it. 😄

Your not wrong, realistically in the amount I use it's not really providing anything more than a little mental comfort.

Not being a chemist, or combustion expert I do wonder about the particulates a little bit.

Depending on what googling I read the resulting manganese oxide can be measured in micro, or nano meters. With some showing as high as 10 microns and some as low as 1 nanometer..for contrast fine rocking tumbling polish is 1-4 microns, a K&N air filter is "meant" to filter down to 5-7 microns.

So! I either have a highly polished orange engine. Or I'm slowing sand blasting my rings till failure.

But I don't really know what the hell I'm talking about so f*** it! full send!😂

OMG that's a lotta crap on there. boostane is awesome. i put in 350ml each fill up and it gets the knock monkey off my back. my plugs looked just like yours after just 1000 miles... at best! it REALLY builds up fast huh. i tried to keep a set of e85 plugs and 93 octane plugs but i gave up. i still do a plug change before i run e85 each spring and a bigger pully. Have you ever noticed spark blowout once they get caked up? that is a clean photo too usually its a potato phone quality portrait. What im concerned with is e85 Sensors use real and imaginary resistances they crap may screw that reading up im really curious now ima check mine!

on a separate note do you run that tight of a spark gap because you were experiencing issues and you were messing with them or did you set it on purpose. i had to go down that far on another car but that's only when boost got in the 30's. I wonder if the O2 just gets so hot it burns all that crap off. i almost died when i saw your photo of the plug.
fart.

Maybe 4,000 miles of light Octanium use?

Switched to adding 3 gallons of e85 to each tank

Out here in the not so great state of California, since we can only get 91 octane, I started running a few gallons of VP racing fuel per tank. Using either the C-9 or C-10, depending on what deal I can find. Both are unleaded. The C-10 is 100 octane. What a difference over just pump gas. Both overall performance and cold-starts are completely different. It is just super quality fuel with no crap added.
Not sure of the availability in your area.
Cheers,
