But then he won’t have money.
I also have more money now... by a large amount.. More Car space, more money, lot more sex, and less complaining. just saying. Or get a pop up shelter and let your car live like a homeless person. Cold and alone on the street with no love.

That’s how much I put on mine per month, but it is garage kept and I obsessively detail it, never drive it in the rain and generally take amazing care of it because I plan to keep it for a while and continue modding it.
Same here. I've owned mine a year next month and it has 2300 miles on it. I don't drive it in rush hour or the rain. Lucky to have a garage to keep it in. Take it out on the weekend for stomps of pure pleasure, heart pounding exuberance.
I am so paranoid about the rain, I have dreams I'm out driving it and it starts raining- which i think are hilarious. Lucky to be in CA where it doesn't rain much. And, fortunate to have a Hummer H3 as the daily driver. It'll get rained on someday, but not today

This is not typical.

I know right? Driving it as a weekend warrior it's like you bought a new car every time you get in it! I still got the new car smell too!

Dust won't harm it. Only thing I'd be concerned of, is the poop. That will eat the clearcoat, then the paint. Expensive to fix...

Wrong forum for that comment. Might I suggest this forum instead?

I'm a car enthusiast at heart and do get attached to vehicles somewhat. If you drive your car, it WILL get damaged. No ifs ands or buts about it. Scratches, dents, rock chips, etc.

If the guys car is just sitting there, not much can go wrong. I mean an animal could come along and damage it. Yes, bird poop would do damage eventually. But dirt and dust is no big deal. So what if the guy doesn't wash his car but every few months. As long as he has a nice layer of wax, he is fine.

Just because you disagree with what I said doesn't make it wrong. A car is a heavy piece of metal. No one can deny that. Especially the Mustangs they are putting out these days. Porky the Pig comes to mind.

I think you're leaving out the main reason you can have nice things... You have MONEY.

I'm not saying neglect the car. Also, just because the guy has dust on his car doesn't mean he is neglecting it. Maybe some of you can watch your car all day and when a hair gets on it, you can go wash and wax the whole thing. Well I can't. More important things to do. You know... adulting .
That was a component of my point. I care for the things I have. Thus leaving more MONEY for other nice things, instead of replacing things I have that were previously nice, but weren't cared for.

No I am not a member and most likely never will be of that forum.

And yes a lot goes wrong if it is just sitting out in the open. I know first hand my 2006 Pontiac G6 is being beaten by the elements, especially the sun right now as it eats up the rubber seals along with the heat. The windshield wipers are toast my headlights are faded but even then after all the damage that is being done to it and has been done to it for an 06 I still take care of it as much as I can. I wash it, just waxed it last month and right now it has a car cover on it. So for a 13 year old car it looks better than 97% of the Pontiac G6's you see on the road.

If you are on this forum than the Mustang or any car you have is looked at more than just a heavy piece of metal we all know it is but we are all enthusiast here. We also appreciate the car for what it is, how it looks and how it performs. And then there are the other Mustang owners we have all seen the ones that drive it to work everyday who don't care if it gets rock chips, door dings if the windows need to be taped to stay up or the back taillight is cracked and the paint is faded and rust is showing through. Those people aren't on this forum they don't care they think that car they take to work everyday is just what you said a heavy piece of metal.

When I look at Jackson pollock painting or a Picasso in "some" cases I see a canvas with some paint splattered on there that looks like shit. Others see art. The concept applies to cars as well. So when you post a picture of a super dirty Mustang on a Mustang forum guess what people are going to take exception to that.

I'm secretly trying not to care as much about my Mustang because I think in my head I care too much about something that isn't a living thing. :headbang:

I put about 150 miles a month on it.. didnt get to drive it this month because ive been working lots of extra hours.
I don't put too many miles on mine either - makes me love each mile. I think you will appreciate it much more vs it being a commuter car.

15 months old and just hit 6600 miles. 5K of that has to be trips back and forth to SoCal to visit my parents, I work from home so no commute. We just bought a 19 Mazda 3 for the daily beater up from a 16 Mazda 6. I’m guessing I’ll trade the mustang in, around mid 2021, usually on a 3 year cycle. I’m eyeing the C8 or a Ram limited. Not a truck guy but was shocked when I saw my dads 19 limited and everything it had.
Mines garage kept and ceramic coated, gets wiped down weekly to keep the dust off her and any time I take it out. Now the new car had its 1 month yesterday and looks like your car. It’s garage kept to but it’s rained on a couple times and I’m to lazy to wash it. It sits at a casino parking lot and will look like a golf ball in 6 months and half the paint will be worn off the front from rock chips in less then a year from the highway miles. Though the Mazda red is amazing, I may polish this and ceramic coat it just to see how much I can get it to pop
