Well part of your planning is the space you want your system to take up not the other way around. Some people do not mind losing their trunk to 2 12s and 8000 watts. Lol

I went the other direction. Least amount of room possible taken up by the system and more sound quality. I bought and built from there. I looked up a lot of specs and performance and matched where I was going in the planning stages.
I'm on the same wavelength at this point in my life.

When it comes to a sealed box, I don't think it really matters as much how big it is as long as it's got whatever minimum size the manufacturer is asking for. Larger than that is going to be just fine.

Ported boxes are obviously a whole different game, and you've got to do a lot more math to tune the thing correctly.

Whats up with those people

+1 to that. Ported boxes are a pain in the ass. Even when designing rectangular boxes sometimes.

A little progress tonight. I trimmed the fiberglass enclosure and fitted the ring and the trim ring. Should be ready for front fiberglass tomorrow night. I mechanical and chemically mounted the rings into the enclosure. I will follow up with some supports tomorrow night to the back of the enclosure tomorrow before fiberglass.

Mission accomplished. Fits like a glove. I have some finish work and a little epoxying to do. Throw some carpet on it, drill the rivet nut holes, wire hole, and put the speaker in.

One down. One to go. Obviously you won't see the wire as it will run up to the amp behind the factory interior.

Truly impressed by your work... kind of makes me want to get rid of my IB setup.

Started in on the passenger side. Got the mold done and all the fiberglass laid. Just got to build the front and mount it all up.

Next up will be the Sync 3 conversion, wiring, and then the door panels/a-pillars.

Then I have to rip it all out before the car ships. Lol

What is the thickness of the fiberglass? Is there any other material that goes with this, it seems like it would be a little thin for a sub box?
Thanks
