Muffler delete wake the neighbors?

Hello all,

I'm new to the forums, but have been lurking for months leading up to my order of a RR ecoboost w/ PP. I cannot restrain myself from buying everything before the car comes next month. So, I'm deciding between MAP CAI, MAP Muffler delete and Flowmaster Outlaw axleback. I have looked up all of these mods on youtube and have watched way too many exhaust videos:lol:, but many say these don't represent the real sound and volume of the exhaust. Basically, I want to know, in your opinion, is a muffler delete too loud that it will wake up your neighbors at 6 am? Although my neighbor does have a jaguar XKR-S that I can hear every morning (but hey I really don't mind that lol).
Also, people have been saying the flowmaster outlaw is straight through, but it doesn't look like a straight pipe compared to MAP, any difference between the two?

Most muffler deletes are going to be loud FWIW

If you are concerned about your neighbor's sleeping quality, a chambered design might be a better bet.

Personally, I'd go with muffler deletes and try to be as respectful as possible

so are muffler deletes very loud at idle or mainly just when you accelerate?

they are not overly loud imo. its a bit at cold idle but dies down when warm, not too loud when not full throttling it. But loud is subjective, ive had street bikes with a foot of exhaust only and I didn't find them that loud

MAPerformance's muffler deletes are for people who already own their catback. They use a Vband connection and would not easily work with a stock exhaust. Just a heads up

No problem. I think the outlaws sound the best. Well as far as axelbacks go. That popping and crackling is awesome.

I have muffler deletes on my ecoboost. All i did was get tips that i like and went to a local muffler shop and they cut of muffle and put in about 12inches of pipe. They are not loud at all. Just a little extra sound but not much. IMO you will get it louder by taking the resonator off

As long as you keep the resonator on you should be fine. I did a muffler delete and kept the resonator on. In higher RPMs it gets pretty loud, but as long as you aren't hot rodding throughout the neighborhood and are short shifting it shouldn't be too bad. I think the muffler delete is the perfect sound for the car. Also so much cheaper. I plan on cutting off the resonator and replacing it with a Borla muffler soon.

Cold start it's very noticeable, but once the idle drops, it's not loud at all.

Have fun with the car! The Flowmaster outlaws are 50 state legal. Be respectful, but don't get bullied by neighbors. Also one of my neighbors cones and picks up someone with a loud exhaust and booming stereo. Used to bug me but now that I know they come and go it doesn't bug me.

Thanks everyone! I think that my best option is to go with the outlaw flow masters, they're great price wise and now that I know to keep the rpms down on the block I think I should be fine. Looking forward to this car!

If you can afford it, the magnaflow street series are a bit louder than stock and sound great, with a catless DP even better!

My solo performance catted turbo back exhaust has no mufflers, just specially designed high flow resonators, its super quiet during idle and cruising below 2k, anything above its gonna be loud. If your looking for a great sounding exhaust for your ecoboost, Solo Performance is the way to go. Plus they have a shop in Buffalo, you could get it installed for free with purchase.
