I am looking to do the muffler delete and have a few questions from people who have done it already. I will be cutting the muffler off, clamping a 2.25" pipe, and putting a 3.5" tip on the end.
I am looking to do this myself, I enjoy projects and working on my cars. the pipe I will get getting is slightly tapered so it should insert into the stock exhaust piping, for anyone that has done this before, do you recommend using a lap band clamp, or the U style exhaust clamp?
Also, I measured from where I will be making the cut to where the tip will stick out, it is about 21" or so, what should I use for the exhaust hanger? The typical hangers I have seen online all seem cheap and reviews state that they break easily. Is there a way I can use the stock bolt holes with a solid solution? I'm assuming that the distance of the piping is too long to go without something holding the pipe up, correct?
