I’ve had my Mach 1 for over a year now, put 6k miles on her, and she’s started to collect chips in the rear quarter panel. Has anyone installed flaps on the front and or rear tires? What brand? Do they work? Are they aesthetically pleasing? How do they hold up over time?

Edit: thanks for the info, guys! Seems to be a common issue with the design of these S550’s. I think I’m gonna go with front and rear from Rokblokz. I’ll update with photos when it’s done.

I needed some additional protection and installed a pair of ZL1 rock guards. See post #25.

I've been very happy with the additional coverage.

Edit,

Depending on the situation and the budget, Paint Protection Film might be a good option. Not covering entire panels, but installing a strip along the rocker section and behind the wheel arches. Good materials installed by an experienced tech can create protection that's almost invisible.

I installed these when lowering the car and have been happy with them so far. kind of spensive for what they are and make sure and read over the directions several times. I goofed up on the first one. did plain black and do like the looks of them however I have 305's on the back and from the ground they don't stretch to the inside of the tire. kind of disappointed with that but they do protect to the outside which is where it matters. guess the ocd in me wants them to stretch the entire tread :)

I installed these on my 2019 GT-350, no screws so you can remove them for cleaning if you want.
I’ve had them on since I bought the car new, 160 mph and tracked and they are still on my car.
Check them out.

They absolutely do help, especially the fronts. I like the shape of the ZL1 guards best, but their method of attachment at the rear is lacking. I went DIY to copy the Rokblokz method in the back.

Once I went to 305 wide track tires, I also had the quarter panels PPF'd with Xpel kit #P0523FE.

I did the ZL1 fronts and have no complaints other than I wish I had done it earlier. I also should have PPF'd the flared out portion of the rear quarters behind the doors (pre-cut pieces are available).

Do they come with front ones stock?
The HP Cars come with a wheel lip , as the tire sticks out past the fender , if you car isn't a Mach then it will take a bit of modifications to use these parts . It has been done , there was an active Thread a couple months ago.

PPF and the low profile fender guards.
