Do you think a 12t press would be enough? I don't have one, but may be able to get access to one.
It might be, but I still recommend throwing that entire shaft assembly in the oven at 350* for 30 min. and then try the press. If I had to do it again, that’s what I would try. That gear is the most stubborn of them all. I couldn’t believe how difficult it was to press it off. Heating or before you try and press it may be enough to change the tolerance slightly to where it lets go upon pressing it.

I have to take mine to a press shop. They have a 100 ton press that presses them off and then back on. Lol
Its quite the sound it makes too.

I expect it scares them off!

How does everyone get the contershaft asst in a 12t/20t press with a 4" gap between frame rails? The 4th/5th gear syncro hub is larger than 4".
