I'm pretty confident most of you guys can find one at MSRP. It took me most of a day on the phone in an ever expanding radius get it rolling. I kept detailed notes on who I talked to and what they said so that when I got the call back I knew where I was at. I had a couple of promising leads but still kept calling others in case it fell through. Basically I planted a lot of seeds and finally one produced. A few hours of my time was worth saving the commonly quoted $10k+ ADM. Good luck!

I put a deposit on one in Birmingham, AL... and I paid $5k over MSRP. Dealers in FL are also asking $10-20k over.

I gave up trying to find a GT350 at MSRP. Everyone wanted at least $10k ADM.

bought a new M3 instead
That sucks, would have been nice to see a few more in the bay area in a sea of M3s/M4s/teslas and p-cars.

Good for you. I should look at the M3 as another option. :)

Unfortunately an M3 is still more coin than a GT350+10k ADM. And unfortunately the new turbo 6 sounds like a lawn mower

Not really. A GT350 w/ Track or Tech pkg is what, ~56k? So add 10k ADM and you are at 66k. You can EASILY get a 6MT M3 for less than that. There are even guys who are getting brand new M3s under 60k doing Euro delivery. Just something to think about.

As far as sounding like a lawn mower, yeah it sounds like shit on a cold start up but once warmed up, it sounds like a deeper, meaner E46 M3

It's between an M4 or GT350 w/ tech pkg for me. Hopefully one of the mags do a comparison test between the two as I believe the M4 is the GT350's biggest competitor, not the Z28.

I couldn't agree with you more... And I would be willing to believe that on any given day, the M4 will have to take a back seat to the 350 as far as performance is regarded.

I guess you could build a bare bones M with non-metallic paint and cloth interior and be around the same price point, but I guess If I am going to spend the coin on an M3/M4, I would want to at least add a few basic options, which quickly get to past the 70k mark

And the E46 (with stock exhaust) also wasnt the most aural experience. BMW did it right with the E92 IMO

There's only 1 non-metallic color that doesnt cost $550/1950 upgrade- white. Every other color paint costs (IMO) a ton.

Sure you can get a bare bare bones white with cloth M3 for $64k, also losing 100hp and 20 ft lbs; and some turbo lag to deal with no matter how much BMW reduced it.

The GT350 is a better performance car any day.

I believe that the GT350 is worth the wait and effort to score an MSRP deal. It is still very early in the process and ADMS will be a challenge early but several of us have gotten MSRP deals and I believe there will be more available at MSRP. People will need to wait to get them. The M4 is a nice car but by the time you have had it for a year will you still be happy with it when you see the GT350 ADMs start dropping off?

I work for BMW, and I'm buying a GT350. After the e92, no M car really excites me anymore.

I just bought the wife a new car. We shopped BMW, Audi, Mercedes.... We ended up with a LEXUS GS350 as everyone we talked to who had owned German experienced more issues with repair than is reasonable.

I have mad love for the M3 & M4, but it would piss me off to no end to have a 75k car and to have little issues come up all of the time. Both my 05 and 11 mustangs have been quite reliable, with the exception of an complete AC fail on the 11 right after it came off of warrantee. I would feel absolutely safe buying another Mustang, even one with new technology like the voodoo motor. I would live in constant fear in an, "M"

Ultimately I expect superior performance, superior reliability, superior resale value and a wacky SUPERIOR EXHAUST NOTE! Yes I will have inferior interior bits and luxuries... C'est la vie!

If I turn out to be wrong, I will be wrong at 8250 rpms.
