Someone brought up a good question in another thread that I don't know if I saw the answer to: are dealerships taking money for all of their allocations for the 2016 model year or just what they are allocated for a particular quarter? I'll throw my hat in the circle asking for help to find one as well still. Tomorrow is a day off so I'll be looking for dealers in the central/Midwest area to give a call or shoot some e-mails to.

Wait for them to start to arrive on the lot and offer MSRP on one.

The dealership I work at was allocated 5 gt350's and 1 gt350r for the year and that's it. We are only ordering them for customers that put deposits down.

As of last count we have 1 gt350 left.

I think as you go south things change. Around here even the biggest dealers are only getting 1 or 2 GT350s for the entire year of 2016, and they haven't heard about 2017 yet. People just don't buy as many Mustangs up here and they are usually a second car that's only used in the summer.

I've said it before but I will repeat - the dealer I have worked with the most ordered a GT350 to the specs I wanted, but they wouldn't negotiate a deal with me yet. They say they are going to look at what the cars are actually selling for once the car arrives and then they will talk to me about it. I haven't heard of a lot of dealers doing that. I talked to another local dealer and they are taking deposits, but they have 4 people in line and only 2 allocations for 2016. They are asking $2,000 over MSRP, which doesn't seem horrible to me. They didn't even offer a chance to negotiate and come to a deal and then order a car. Another dealer I've talked to first told me they had a car for me at MSRP, but now they don't answer my emails. I assume that means they are planning to renege on their initial agreement with me.

So I think the answer to your question is that every dealership is different. You have to call them and find out. All the dealers I've talked to are working with the entire year's allocation of GT350s, not just one quarter. I think it's uncommon for a dealer to be allocated more than 1 or 2 for 2016 - at least around here it is.

How much are they marking the car up?

Well, I guess I'll just have to do as you said then and start calling around and see what I can find. Thanks again for your input, very helpful! I hope the dealer you've got one ordered through works out for you and they don't end up marking it up last minute on you! Sorry for the thread high jack OP.

I only am repeating what the dealers I talked to have said about their allocations. My understanding is the allocations are cars they are guaranteed to get by Ford. They may end up with additional cars, but they don't know that now.

I don't know any more about how many will be made than anyone else on the forums. I think Ford has said it will be similar to the past special cars, which doesn't really nail it down.

BINGO
Ford has "hinted" at around 5000 GT350s and 500 GT350Rs but that is only hints, people talking to ford folks at GT350 events etc. Ford has NOT announced planned production numbers and anyone telling you a specific number is full of it.

Dealers know their allocation for 2016 MY. If they are in the program they will also get at least 1 in 2017. But allocation for 2017 is almost a year away and will be based upon many factors-mainly dealing with 2016 Mustang sales and other Ford internal incentive programs for dealers. Obviously MOST dealers will get in 2017 what they got in 2016 but that is NOT locked in stone either-beyond their guaranteed 1.

Personally I believe demand will far outstrip production for 2016MY and 2017MY. GT350 is a stronger name then the Boss 302 plus you have a car that is greatly different in terms of performance in comparing GT-Boss vs GT-GT350. It is also on the "new" body which creates market energy.

Pay AMD or not paying ADM is YOUR call (Ignore everyone else on this topic-especially the idiots who tell they that MSRP deals are easy to get or will be in 2 months. Send them a PM asking for the name of a dealer with open allocation at MSRP and they will never respond to you as they don't know jack).

Just be CAREFUL if it comes to a small ADM ($2500 or less) and you really WANT (and can afford) the car and walking away. Ford jumped the MSRP of the Boss 302 a couple grand between the 2012 and 2013 model years. That may very well happen again so a 2016MY GT350 with a $2000 ADM may end up actually being cheaper then a 2017MY at MSRP.

It is all unknown- do just what you are comfortable with. Oh, Ford has promised the GT350 for 2 yrs--NOT a damn day longer. They may end up producing them for 3-7 years....but Ford has NOT committed to that fact. DO NOT count on the GT350 and GT500 being produced at the same time....GT500 comes out--GT350 goes away and CAFE really digs in starting in 2017....

Good luck and have fun with the hunt. Just remember it is just a car and nothing more....there will be a new "star" of the month in a year or two that all the poser boys will swoon after....and if you feel your life really hinges on getting one NOW--skip the GT350 and spend the money on a good shrink instead.

I am debating to pay over msrp to a dealer that I found by calling around, they are looking to get 5000.00 over for a gt350 . All other dealers I called are taking well over that.

I spent weeks contacting dealers around my area. I just kept expanding the radius, usually just emailing them through their Contact page on the website to get things started. I wen't through about 15 dealerships before finding one to sell at MSRP. I had just finished reading an email from one dealership asking for $10k markup when the MSRP deal came through. I fell out of my chair.

I gave up trying to find a GT350 at MSRP. Everyone wanted at least $10k ADM.
