For the price the motorcraft filter is actually quite good but there are certainly better filters around, I’m a wix man myself, K&N on my boat that sits at 4k rpm all day

I’d return that filter if you haven’t already ….
That's a used filter. When I put it on it 'looked' fine. That was after I took it off.
Using nothing but FL820 now ...

I dunno man, looks like someone found it at the bottom of the ocean lol. Gasket looks nearly petrified like it's 200 years old...

At least you can upgrade to the better FL820. Mach 1 is limited to the OEM diameter because of the unique filter housing incorporating the external oil cooler lines (first gen gt350?) and I wish I could find a better spin-on filter option than the "good enough" OEM approach.

I always open boxed up parts before I pay for them. Once I was looking at sway bar end links for my F150, someone opened the package, put them on, took them off and returned them. Needless to say, I didn't buy them lol.

...So what filter did the dealer actually sell, the Motorcraft filter would be white with oval holes and the blue one pictured has round holes doesn't appear to be an authentic Ford branded filter?
