Well guys, my quest for a 9 second DD is being haulted by some unknown knock.
As for my car.
2015 Auto. VMP stage 3- twin 67mm tb, id 1000's, Sai Li fuel system, e85, MBRP h pipe and mufflers.
A little history. I installed this kit as a stage 2 in November, initially logged ZERO knock on 93. Ran it this way for months and then decided to do a few more things
Added performance pack shocks/struts, steeda progressive springs, sai li fuel system, and id1000's for e85 all between my zero knock log and now.
Now I have knock on almost every pull, however I will get zero knock intermittently. Because I have done so much from one good log to now, I don't know where it could be.
I have looked at all exhaust and tightened and re-checked every nut and bolt. I have looked at all suspension to make sure nothing is hitting. I have stripped the front of my car down to make sure nothing is banging.
Today I switched plugs from Brisk 1 stage colder to NGK 6510's just to see if that somehow was an issue, but it didn't change anything. Next I'm going to just pull the supercharger, check all lines, knock sensors themselves, and give a final attempt at finding the cause.
I have tested the e85, always testing at 70% or better ethanol. Even with the good Houston 80%+ ethanol it was doing the same thing..... Starting at 20* spark advance and dropping to 11* due to the knock at times.
Anyone able to give any advice?
Any help would be greatly appretiated.
