I found evo x forum. There Cobb tunes same. It’s for safety, I’m 100% sure of it. More power putting into engine, they are richening as safety cushion.

so? Stage 1 is less power.Stage 3 is absolute hardest Cobb felt was safe, so why not add a little more richness for increased wot safety?

by that logic. It seems absolutely normal.

you can email Cobb and ask what afr target is for stage3 and if high 10afr or whatever is safe or not
Yeah that's true. But I have to be getting loss of power from something. The culprit can be anything at this point. Lol. It's possible the donut isn't sealing perfectly because it's not in great shape. Or the plugs are bad. If stage 3 is meant for more power up high and stage one is more for down low I'm not seeing the gains or feeling them on my AP3.

Toss a new set of plugs in. If you want ruthenium’s I can gap you a set and mail them to you. I’m doing it for another member today.

Just pay me the cost of plugs, 42 and couple bucks for shipping. I don’t mind. I think it’s fun

So what's up with those rutheniums? Why not just go oem?

Def use oem intake and if you don’t have high flow filter.
Get the afe instead kn. So much nicer imo than the kn
I can hear my car sucking noise a ton more, and pleats are much wider. The kn when I clean it, flies and bugs I literally have to use a flat head mini item and slide them out

the afe pleats have larger spaces, means easier to clean. And felt nicer in all ways.

with the code EM20CARE 20% off. Brings afe same price as kn. That said keep other filter so when you clean the afe, use it for a day or two while the filter dries from washing.

I don’t even feel my cars on with the new ruthenium’s. My 170k Scion tC is getting 34-37mpg and it’s never had over 31-33 in its life. My gf’s sonic is getting 40mpg now on them.

my mustang I clocked 35-37mpg awhile back.

If you’re putting plugs in, they also last longer and burn cleaner. Figure might as well put better plugs. With 20% off it makes them 40 bucks. I’m going to change them every 50k miles. Just because I can see how my cars health is doing pulling them

It’s all I’m going to use, Adam Brunson tune + is advocating using them now and selling them saying in tuned applications he saw an increase all across the board

Yeah I need to reinstall it. I hear everyone talking about how the oem is just as good if not better than aftermarket. Sucks I spent almost 300 on a CAI. I'll have to buy that drop in and clean my old intake. It's been collecting dust lol.

I paid 300 for mine. Sold for 180. Is what it is. Keep old one for awhile and monitor the changes to see if you want to use oem after comparing.

but look at the photos, you can see all the bugs trapped in kn filter pleats.
The afe has larger spaces. The kn Was a pain to clean, glu was crudely applied around edges on kn. Afe was perfect. Just nicer product.

Yeah that's crazy. The one I have now isn't too bad to clean. I'll definitely pick that filter up once I swap back. I feel like KN may be more careless because they are so well known lol. You can find them at your local parts store.

Zoom up on the pic with both blue and red filters, zoom in on the edges, and look at top bottom of kn filter.

the glue was everywhere, not nice at all. When I opened it I was like da fuq. But it worked, I did wash and oiled kn. Itl be my spare for when I have afe out of car washing and oiling.

and the kn also has fraying. Loose strands. Sure it doesn’t matter though

I use this on all my washable filters. One bottle will last you yearssss. Going to use with afe too. It’s just a degreaser essentially. But yeah.

Use that EM20CARE on an order of these. The oil and cleaner will last you 5 years with multiple kn filters.

Cleaner

oil- oil is oil, I’m using this instead of afe. It’s all the same

And filter - I’d order it now for real. It took mine a week to arrive, they are made per order. Mine had a sticker from like a week earlier and inspection.
