I'm just one of those people who prefers to tinker and come up with custom designs rather than buying off the shelf. I'm having a shop weld up a custom exhaust and am having a couple dilemmas.
1. What is the bolt spacing/pattern for the flange on the downpipe that connects to the turbo? I ordered a 3" 2-bolt flange that was supposed to have oval holes and it arrived with 4.15" bolt spacing. From my crude measurements it looks like the spacing is around 4.45" and I can't find a solid (non donut style) flange anywhere online.
2. Does anyone know the angle of the firewall in relation to the turbo outlet? I don't have a protractor handy and would like to have as many details as possible before tearing parts off the car.
3. Has anyone used a cutout or moved the cat farther back in a region with emissions testing (CA excluded)? If so, did moving the cat farther downstream effect your emissions? Did adding a cutout cause any check engine lights?
Any other measurements or design tips are welcomed on this thread for future readers. Thanks!
