Mode retention and tuning

I have the 10r80 and still researching for tuning plans next year. Was considering shoemaker. While I think Lund makes great tunes, their service is unacceptable. (Yes I know, people here love Wengerd. Have not ruled him out.)
My buddy has the 6r80 and recently got tuned by shoemaker. He does not have a lot of experience and was asking questions. His complaint was that after the tune, the car jerks hard in sport mode. IMO, Rob’s response was unprofessional. Included below.

My big question was, is this normal as far as essentially removing the normal mode? I personally like that for just cruising or going to work in the mornings.

IMO I don't feel it was unprofessional he asked did he wanted it changed and gave him the reason why he changed them to matched.

You should be getting tuned with Wengerd, especially w/ the A10. You won't have a sinlge thing to complain about and no doubts, at all.. just saying.

Does he retain modes? I bought a non-base for a reason. So that’s important to me personally.

I have a manual, but all my modes have been retained and work as they should. Not sure if the A10 is a different animal or not.

Is it normal for them to overwrite Normal mode with Sport mode's settings? No probably not a standard practice without it being requested by the client, but its a trivial ask.

You can do pretty much whatever you want regarding drive modes, shift firmness, shift maps, and tcc operation. If you don’t want to self-tune and want to specify exactly what you want done without getting berated I would suggest @DRP Motorsports
